I never understood why quitting was so hard. Whenever you get the urge then go do something else. Plus do not buy any packs if you are trying to quit. Tne you cannot light up.

This really is a terrific story. Just goes to show how much your life can change by getting over the hurdle that is an addiction. I am glad things worked out for them. Not only are they happier but they are much healthier now.

It is true that there are some risks but it is definitly worth them in the end. Plus the whole procedure is becoming safer as we become more advanced in the medicinal field. So yes it is worth it.

Since people have problems controlling how much they eat this is agood option because the doctors go in and physically make your stomach smaller by stapeling it. That makes it so that you cannot hold as much food at one time and therefore you have to eat less.

Sadly I think doctors are overly prescribing for teenage depression. Often the depression that these kids have is not really depression justa rough patch of life. There is a huge difference yet they will be put on some type of drug.

Most of the nightmares that I have relate to past things in my life that has played a significant role in who I am. I often dream about things I would rather forget but just cannot seem to.

Whoever came up with that concept is really out of it. There is no genetic aspect that makes women want to shop. Women just normally have more to buy due to cultural issues. There is nothing genetic about it.

Seems to me that you are just loose. But I suppose that is natural to a degree. But you knwo better from what you are saying yet you still do it so you have nothing to blame but yourself. Just stop having sex in the first place. That itself is easy. Then go from there.

Often all an addict needs is a story like this to give them the hope they need to recover. They may think it is impossible but after hearing something like this they would see otherwise.

Wow I did not know that there are so many kids that are taking so many pain killers . The problem is that there are too many people trying to make money on us and not trying to help us .

This is sadly true. Too many doctors these days prescribe so many unneccesary drugs just to make an extra buck. Then people end up addicted on something they never really needed in the first place.

Well you said that this study did not include online gambling but that is one of the most serious problems with gamblers these days. In America most gambling is illegla so people get online and do it. You cannot just leave that out of a study.

Does pressure from society or family or women help in quitting smoking??? How many of you are feeling this pressure or have felt it??? How good and bad it can be???

This is in the wrong area. This is the alchoholism forum not the smoking. But yes there is a lot of pressure to quit. People generally look down upon smokers in public so that can start to weigh in on you.

In my community there are always little projects going on that often include advertisment campaigns and little speeches that try to get people to stop with their drinking problems.

Is this happening when you are deep asleep or getting ready to wake? Maybe you should try some sleeping medication. That might help some. Also try relaxing more when you are awake.

It is common with teenage girls these days because they are being shown images of anorexic models from a young age so they feel they need to look like that. It is sick.

It most likley is not possible to any degree to go back in time. And going into the future is a bit more likley but once there I doubt you would be able to get back.

Can gambling really be called an addiction? There really is no mental or chemical effects going on in the body to make one get addicted to it. It is more like a desire to win money.

A lot of people are becoming addicted to the internet and yet they do not seem to know all of the dangerous things that go along with it. Not only do they spend countless hours on the computer but they also strain their eyes, put their identity at risk, and risk destroying their computer from viruses and spyware.

Does anybody here often find themselves watching television even when there is nothing good on? I sometimes find myself sitting there and just flipping through the channels for hours just cause I want to watch tv.

Did any of your mothers smoke while she was pregnant? If so do you suffer from health effects due to that? I have heard that you can but I have never heard of a specific case.

He was a chain smoker and a heavy drinker for 17 years of his life. He lost his wife due to his problems and ended up in poverty. Finally he came and looked for help. Thankfully he has overcame his addictions and beginning to move on with his life.

I do not see the similarity you were trying to make there...what do you mean having the gospel etc.

How is that the same thing as not sharing the cure for cancer?

When I have been in the hospital I was lucky enough to have the pastor from my actual church come by and pray for me. He is a great guy and went out of his way for me!

How can one even get addicted to cough syrup. I can hardly even take it when needed. The taste and smell of it is disgusting! Why and how could anybody abuse it?
