In the Midwest,
children smoking marijuana has increased from 1,500 to 9,150 in just one
year. These kids are between the ages of
nine and fifteen receiving psychiatric help for drugs and even getting sent to
treatment facilities and rehab centers.
Their brains have basically been scrambles because they’re smoking super
strong cannabis called “skunk.” It’s so
shocking that children are starting out on drugs at nine and ending up in
treatment. They need to be told of all
the dangers of cannabis smoking just as they are of tobacco smoke.
The highest
number of juvenile smokers is in the Midwest, where 2,057 are in treatment and
more than 57% admit to cannabis as their main drug. London has 1,619 child drug abusers and cannabis
the biggest problem for 64 percent of them.
Once children are over sixteen, a horrific 373,000 admit to taking
cocaine, which is twice the level in 1998.
Apparently
experts say that 800 cases of schizophrenia each year are linked to the drug
cannabis. Nowadays cannabis is not only
stronger, but more cancer-causing than tobacco.
Stories of Recovery

Recently I went to an AA meeting
as a support for my friend and I fell in love with the program. I used to suffer from addiction, but I’ve
been sober for three months now. However
I’m not sure If I’m fully recovered because I will smoke weed every once in a
while but I do not feel addicted anymore.
I love my life and my job and friends, but I fear that I could just as
easily slip into an addiction again.
The people at the AA meeting were
so loving, so supportive. The AA group
was their family and it’s the only thing that keeps them sober. It wasn’t one of those meetings where
afterwards, everyone talks about how they’re still drinking, it was church
based and everyone felt so lovely and in control afterwards. There’s usually a guest speaker and they
share their story of sobriety and how they overcame their addiction.
One woman admitted that she would
drink before work, on her breaks, and after work. On company business trips, she would usually end
up blacked out by the end of the night, unknowing of how she even got to her
hotel room. Her story nearly made me cry
because I was so happy for her. She’s
had many trials in her life, but AA and God were the only things that got her
through.
The only thing that’s kept me off
drugs and alcohol for so long is my faith in God. I feel like I’ve disappointed him for so long
that I have no right to ever turn my back on him. I’ve learned that God doesn’t need us to
serve him, but he certainly desires it more than anything. I have an ability to turn people towards God
and learn to lean on him, but I would’ve never known that I could help people
in such a way without my sobriety through Christ.
A Terrible Addiction

There is a terrible addiction
that’s been sweeping across the nation and some think it’s not so bad, but it
is! It drives people in debt, leads to
foreclosure of homes and people may end up homeless! Nearly sixty percent of us are in long term
debt because of it. Its shopping
addiction and more than 15 million Americans suffer from it. So, the question is, “What would Jesus Buy?”
There is even a movie being made based
only on the topic of the choices of merchandise of Jesus Christ. It’s about putting a wake-up call to mall
junkies everywhere, exercising the demons from assorted cash registers and
credit cards, urging consumers to return to more authentic purchasing.

Haha yeah, I mean you shouldn't be going to malls if you can't even afford to feed yourself. I think it's best to just limit yourself if you're scared of overspending. Only bring cash and no credit cards allowed.

Lol, yeah scary but I mean, maybe only go shopping like three times a year. I have a problem with losing my clothes, so I feel obligated to go out and buy new ones. It's like one big cycle, every season there's new trends and fashions, so I just try to go big shopping three times a year and then maybe just one or two things a month!
