Lindsay Lohan has checked out of drug and alcohol treatment program in Utah that she entered in August. Lohan, now 21 years old, left the Cirque Lodge treatment center on Friday afternoon. Her parents are proud of her, Lindsay's mom says she's moving ahead with her life. She really needed to heal. Lohan's trip to Cirque Lodge was her third trip to rehab since January, a crazy year in which she wrecked a Mercedes-Benz, released the box office flop "I Know who Killed Me" and was arrested more than once.
In these recent years, she's become more popular for nonstop appearances on the Hollywood nightclub scene, than for her previous movies. In both incidents of her arrests, Lohan was found in possession of small amounts of cocaine. And in August, she reached a plea deal on misdameanor drunken driving and cocaine charges stemming from the arrests. The deal called for her to enter treatment, spend a day in jail, and perform community service.
Immediately following her sentence, Lohan released a statement, "It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs."
Prescription Drug Addiction Rivals any Addiction

In Mansfield, a terminally ill woman's son stole pain reliever from her. She was on fentanyl patches, he would take the patch off her, extract as much of the drug as he could and then tape it back on her. His excuse was he was just an addict and the health care agency would be there in a short amount of time, so it didn't matter. This is the power of prescription drug addiction. Of the 20 most abused drugs, 14 are pharmaceuticals.
There's been a resurgence of heroin, a huge concurrent explosion in illicit trafficking. A lot of people start out on pharmaceuticals, many times for valid reasons, and they end up becoming addicted. Heroin is generally cheaper and easier to find. Abusers often use Oxycontin or Percocet as a substitute of heroin. Any type of street drug, you can find a prescription drug that mirrors the effects. Addicts can develop a tremendous tolerance, using 10-15 or more pills a day is not uncommon.
According to Richland County coroner's office, most of the 19 overdoses that occured in 2006, were a mixture that included pharmaceuticals. The elderly population is an emerging trend in divergent pharmaceuticals. They're victims of theft many times and in some cases, they'll sell their own prescriptions for additional income.

In Philadelphia, a mother of a 14-year-old boy who authorities say had a stash of guns, knives and explosive devices in his bedroom for a possible school attack was charged Friday with buying her son three weapons.
The woman, Michelle Cossey, bought her home-schooled son a .22-caliber handgun, a .22 caliber rifle and a 9 mm semiautomatic rifle, authorities said. The teenager felt bullied and tried to recruit another boy for the possible attack at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in suburban Philadelphia. The police told NBC news that the boy had confessed to plotting the attack.
The police acted based on a tip from a high school student and his father, the police found the rifle, about 30 air-powered guns, swords, knives, a bomb-making book, videos of the 1999 Columbine attack in Colorado and violence filled notebooks in the boys room.
The boy also had a myspace page, which was filled with references to the Columbine shootings in a tribute to the gunmen. He also had the attackers listed among his heroes. The district attorneys blamed the boy's parents for his violent fantasies and alienation.

A recent study shows that most employees are gettig a plumper waistline instead of a fatter paycheck.
- 49% of workers say they've gained more than 10 pounds at his or her present job
- An Additional 13% of employees have gained more than 20 pounds
Some employees don't leave the building for their meals.
- 13% of workers say they eat lunch out of vending machines at least once a week
- 58% of workers say they eat out for lunch at least once a week
-12% eat out five times a week for lunch
If your job seems to be packing on more pounds, here are some simple ways to be healthier at work.
1.) Indulge without guilt. Let's face it, sometimes dessert is just too hard to pass up. The key is everything in moderation. Have one piece of birthday cake. When finished, throw out the fork and plate and just walk away.
2.) Use your commute. Burn more calories by parking a little further away and walking the rest of the way.
3.) Brown-bag it. Packaging your lunch will not only help you to control your nutrition and portions- it'll also fatten your wallet, instead of your tummy.
4.) Put in some face time. Instead of emailing, calling or instant messaging your co-worker, walk over to him or her. The extra steps will add up.
5.) Keep your mouth busy. Chewing gum or chatting with co-workers can help you to avoid that second trip to the sweet table at office holiday celebrations.
6.) Drink and be merry. We all get a little stir-crazy at work and sometimes we turn to food for distraction.
-69% of workers snack once per day, 37% snack twice per day, 12% snack at least three times per day
7.) Stock the shelves. Pack your office drawers with healthy, filling snacks, so it will be easier to elude comfort food temptations on chilly days.
8.) Start a support group. Get together with co-workers and start a lunch or fitness group that will keep everyone on track.
