There are steps you need to take in order to get through addiction. Denial is a big hurdle for most as they don't want to admit they have a problem. Until they do admit it they will never be able to start the recovery. There are different stages of emotions you go through and it can be up and down in a matter of hours. I just took everything one day at a time.

I think just being there to support them would be really great. A journal may or may not be something they would use or not. It would depend on the person I would think and if they want to write down what they are going through at the moment. But it's a nice jesture.
Hard talking about Myself

I found it hard talking about my addiction at first. I felt very uncomfortable especially in person. It was somewhat easier online, but to discuss it face to face with people was really hard for me. I was not one that liked to talk about myself to begin with. I still kind of feel weird discussing anything about myself with anyone.

You just need to hang in there. Find a support group in your area. If you contact an addictions councilor in your area they should be able to help you find the support group to help you get through this. It's a tough road to travel but as we hear a million times we just have to take it a day at a time.

Becoming addicted at an early age is a tough situation to handle. The family has to do an intervention if the teen isn't ready to admit they have a problem and want to get help. It's a crucial point in time right now and since they are young they probably haven't had the adiction for too long yet. They longer it goes on the tougher it's going to be.

We hear it all the time but taking it one day at a time, one step at a time is the only way it can be done. It's not going to happen over night and occassionally people may fall down but they have to get right back up and keep going.

I guess it depends what kind of bar and what kind of people frequent it. Some bars are kind of seedy and others are not. Some bars have people fighting every night and some do not. They are different types of bars to serve different types of customers.

No I can't say that I have ever hid them. Or do you mean steal them? How can you hide them on an airplane without someone seeing you hide them? Where do you hide them? Take them into the potty?

True, staying away from alcohol and people that drink are a good way to keep yourself from being tempted into drinking again. Sometimes it's hard when there are holidays and family and friends like to celebrate a little.

ZERO is enough for most alcoholics as they have quit drinking for a reason. So the last time they took a drink was the point they told themself enough.
What did you find in Alcohol?

I found something that made me forget about everything. Forget who I was or what I needed to do. It was an escape from reality where I didn't have to care about anything but that drink. It was a way to numb myself and not have to worry if I had to pay the bills or not.

I have even seen video of ex-CIA talking about how the CIA is involved in the importing of the drugs into the USA. It's readily available information if anyone wants to look it up. You can find the video on youtube even.

There are some people that believe marijuana should be legalized. What do you think? Do you think that is something the government should consider or should it never even be put to a vote? Some feel they should focus on the hard drugs like meth, crack, cokecain, etc. and leave marijuna alone.

There are a lot of products, that I won't mention ,that people use to get drunk or high off of that they can just walk into any store and buy. Some of the people buy this because it is cheaper than the drugs most people think of and easier to get.

I prefer movies over TV any day. I don't like TV at all. I think people are just so used to it being there they don't even think it's a problem when they are watching 5,6,7 or 8 hours of television a day.

Yes trust is a big issue and you're right the reward is worth it. It just takes a bit of time and eventually opening up and discussing the problem is always the best thing to do of course.

It could very well be an addiction. There are many people that just shop for the sake of shopping even if they really don't need the items they are buying. A lot of people put themselves in credit card debt from their shopping addictions. Try and curb your need to shop online because it's even easier to shop online.

Well it's never out of your mind when you're an alcoholic. If you haven't had a drink for a long while you'll know it and you'll immediately think of the alcohol. It's a lot more than just not going through the aisle with liquor in the store.

Friends do play a part in introducing their friends to drugs and alcohol. When you're young you do make mistakes in life. I'm glad you decided to go clean and start new. Keep it going and good luck.

Cut Up Your Credit Cards

If you have a problem with shopping and are in credit card debt you need to cut them up immediately. To continue charging stuff is going to create bigger problems that will be harder for you to fix. If you can't pay off your credit cards each month to avoid interest charges you are charging TOO MUCH. Get rid of the cards and then talk to your bank to see if they'll give you a consolidation loan to pay off your credit cards. This will give you a lower interest rate with your bank and you'll have one payment each month on your loan which will be easier to keep track of.
Is smoking a Cigar once a month or two months OK?

I bought a cigar recently just because I wanted to try it and see what it's like. I don't think it's something I'd like everyday but for some reason I don't mind it once a month or two. I know smoking period isn't a healthy thing to do but one 6-12 cigars a year wouldn't hurt too much would they?
