Re: badly addicted 2 crack

I have been through an addiction to crack. It's not hard to stop if you can get away from the people who use it with you. Rehab is a good place to start. After rehab is when it will get tricky. You have to make the conscious decision not to go back to your old playground. If you do, you run the risk of relapsing. What I did was went to a rehab in another city, and when I finished treatment, I went to the halfway house and got a job and stayed there. I have been clean since '99 because I didn't go back and associate with other users. But there are still times I think about it. I don't know if that will ever change.

Groovy! I am not a drinker, but my mother, who is currently in a recovery house may very well find these pills helpful. I will be sure to tell her about it when I talk to her tomorrow! Thanks so much for this information. I'll do some research and see if I can get my mother interested. Hopefully, she will at least consider this option.

Wow, I did coke for about 2 years and I am like you, Jonny - I never knew how all the trafficking stuff worked either. I am so glad to be out of that lifestyle and cleaned up. If I hadn't stopped when I did, I'm sure I would be in just as much trouble as these guys, because I had already begun to dabble in selling it.

I agree that you should try rehab. I wasn't able to kick my habit until I went to rehab and I tried dozens of times. It will only take 28 days out of your whole life and it will give you a chance to get over the headaches. They will also help you learn how to change your lifestyle and habits, so you can learn to live without weed, so your son can grow up with a clean parent.

Years ago, when I was in rehab, I had my "walkman" with me and a single tape to listen to. It was Pink Floyd's "Division Bell." The one song on that tape that inspired me was "Coming Back To Life." Even these days I listen to that song when I need a little encouragement. Pink Floyd is a great band.

Wow, no pun intended, I heard that World of Warcraft was addictive, but this guy completely ignored his wife, his house, his bills, everything to play it. If you can't sit down and watch a TV show together (30 fricken minutes) because there's a raid on, then you don't even deserve to have friends.

I want his name, so I can Spam-PK him for ignoring his lover like that.

Wow, that was a very interesting article. Thanks for posting it. I have
to agree with the author, though, that there must have been an
underlying issue. I would not blame his addiction solely on the WoW
game. Obviously, he has an addictive personality, and as the author
said, perhaps he wasn't truly happy in his marriage to begin with. And
you have to wonder if Jocelyn ever tried to get him into any kind of
therapy. I guess I just don't give up so easily. I would've done away
with the game and all access to it if it were threatening my very
well-being and get to the heart of the matter, and work on the real
problems.

I never had a problem with internet shopping; however, I can see how it could become addictive. I don't have a credit card, or anyway to buy stuff online, so it's just as well, because I'd be a shopping addict for sure. I am always seeing something I'd love to have, and if I had any way to get it, I'd probably spend way too much money, which I couldn't spare. So I'm glad I don't have credit cards.

I smoke less than a pack a day, but I'm rather worried about my husband. Since he got laid off, he sometimes smokes over THREE packs a day! I don't see how he does it. But I've noticed he's been getting a lot of headaches lately, and I think the increase in his smoking is a large contributing factor. I'll be glad when he goes back to work, or he's going to get very sick soon.
Study: Men Predisposed to Video Game Addiction

Quenlin's thread about the WoW divorce got me to wondering about gaming addiction. So I did a search for it and came across this article about a recent study at Stanford University School of Medicine where they studied brain imagery of 22 young adults—11 women and 11 men—while subjects were playing a simple computer game in which gaining territory was the objective. It's a very interesting article, so give it a read. Here's the link:
