I want to be the best help my mother can have. How do I help her with her addiction? It is to crack.

Your insurance company can probably point you in the right direction. This is how we found the one we are using.

Would a move to a new town be a good thing to get away from the old crowd or would that be too many changes at once? Your thoughts?

I think women through parties to network and socialize. Men throw parties to relax. Just look at a party a man organizes and one that a woman organizes.

It sounds like you have made some great decisions but don't hesitate to see a counselor if you and/or your son have any lasting effects from their treatment of you.

Friends can be near or far. The computer has made it easy to connect to those far away. Please consider those of us on this board your friends also in time of need.

My mother says I am her inspiration to beat her addiction to crack. I wish she wanted to do it for herself.

I do not go to a church but I feel extremely close to God. I just don't feel the need to have others around to prove it.

Exactly. Having your family on your side will help in recovery. You have to do it for you, but family is important.

This is true. Men are considered distinguished when they get older, and society considers women crones if they look elderly. A double standard.

A lot of addictions are physical, certainly. I do think though that you have to have a mindset that allows you to be addicted.

I like to work with it on for noise, but I don't think I could sleep wiith it on. I have fallen asleep with it on now and again though.

I don't believe there is a connection as ADHD is caused by a chemical imbalance.

I have shows that I like to watch and enjoy, I don't feel as if I am going to get sick and die if I don't see my show, I may get a bit dissappointed. I don't feel I am addicted.

Now that you have admitted the problem......are you willing to make the necessary changes to fix it? You have to want to change it. Do you have a counselor?

Won't that catch up with you when the stores begin to recognize that you are just basically trying things on over the mail system? Order it, try it on, send it back. Eventually they will just drop you from the list. Please try to get some help.

I think women see shopping as a social event. I do know guys that go shopping and just look. More of a time passer. But they don't buy everytime.
