I did see that episode of Grey’s Anatomy. It was a very good episode and I like how they related everything that was going on to an addiction. That scene that you described was very intense and it’s amazing what people can do to get some extra money. It was sad too when the young man died who went to their house that morning and ended up dying when George was running tests on him. I know that it is just a TV show, but I bet these things happen all the time. Watching this episode really made me think about life and how many people, even the ones we don’t expect , struggle from addictions.

The pastor is certainly right. My ex boyfriend died in Iraq over a year ago and I'm struggling with it still to this day. We have so many memories together and I miss him, but luckily, I have those memories. I love to think back to all the things we did together and all the feelings we shared. I really need to learn to celebrate his life and not grieve. Death is the only certainty in life, we all go at different ages and ways, and I’m so happy that I can see him again one day. He is truly my hero.

It sounds like she could be. Like other people have said try not to get angry with her. Be as supportive as you can to her needs, but there is probably a reason why she is drinking so much. Usually, counseling helps figure out some of those issues that we don't even think about. Heavy drinking can lead to so many diseases and other health risks. Good luck!

Has anyone seen the movie "Lucky You"? It's all about this guy who has a gambling addiction and will lose anywhere from 5G to 10G in one day! There is more to the plot, but it was so weird to watch someone so addicted to gambling and how their mind works.

No, that seems pretty normal. I love watching Grey's Anatomy and I watch it every Thursday and even if I'm busy I'll stop and watch it. I also make sure I'm home whenever it's going to be on. I do get sad when I miss part of it, but I don't think that's an addiction. It's just something you enjoy watching, there is nothing wrong with that!

I'm always in front of a computer! Most of the time it's for work, so that's not bad. I have online classes so that doesn't count either, but for my own personal use I could be on it almost all day searching for something. So for a breakdown I would say I spend 50 hours on the computer for serious things and about 20 for fun, sometimes a little more .

I just read an article a couple weeks ago on this topic. They estimate that around 10.5 million teens drink in the states and gave them a survey which found they are getting alcohol from adults mainly. 158,000 teens were surveyed from 2002-06 and 40% admitted that they know an adult who will get them alcohol for free. Isn’t that crazy? When I was that age there is no way my parents would have bought me alcohol ever. I wasn’t allowed to go to parties or anything and although at the time it was like harsh punishment I’m glad they disciplined me that way. I haven’t had alcohol in years and I plan on keeping it that way.

Well, this 55 year old man is suing Mirapex (the medicine that is used to treat Parkinson’s and restless leg syndrome. He is also suing the companies that are involved with the drug, which totals $3million dollars because he claims he became addicted to gambling from using it. He has been taking the drug since 2002 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. He believes the company didn’t provide their users with accurate or enough information on the medicine and its side effects.
