Re: Plastic Surgery: Deadly or life changing?

I don't agree that we should get plastic surgery just to boost our confidence. Not only is plastic surgery an expensive way to change your appearance it can be very dangerous. We are all born differently and if we all got plastic surgery we would all look the same, how boring is that? I only think plastic surgery is okay if you really need it, not just because you have a tiny bump on your nose and no one can even notice. Celebrities are always being watched and I think they feel the need to be and look perfect for the camera, which is sad to me. This is teaching young children bad habits and that they aren’t good enough.

That's absolutely right. I mean all I can say is wow. I bet almost everyone has looked at someone like when you are at the mall or even at the movies and lusted over them. Many Christians struggle with this same problem and some even go further than lusting and commit adultery. We really need to form a support group on here for those struggling Christians, it’s not worth ruining your marriage and family over this. I always ask myself in tough situations what would Jesus do? But I should really be asking myself that in every situation. I gave my life to the Lord so I need to trust in Him with everything.

Isn’t it amazing how much He loves each and every one of us? He died on the cross for our sins so we can have salvation. What have we done for Him? I always ask myself this question. He doesn’t ask much from us, but to be obedient to Him and love and trust Him with everything you have. It is so easy to slip into sin and as we all know sin has a way of creeping up on us and getting worse and worse with each passing day. You feel convicted by the Holy Spirit and you need to let it work in your heart.

I’m sure you really wouldn’t rather be on drugs. An addiction is an addiction and they are all hard to overcome. Just read your Bible daily and try to follow God’s word. I know its way easier said than done, but anything is possible through Christ.

I hope this helps, I’m not trying to lecture you so sorry if it comes across that way, I’m just trying to be supportive to a fellow believer.

God Bless!

I'm sure this happens a lot and it's terrible. When a member of the church is falling we should stand by them and help them not turn our backs on them. How will they ever get better if no one is there for them? God never turned His back on anyone so why should we?

I found these on the internet and they amazed me so I thought I would share them!

I think it's great that you didn't deny God even after you were attacked by a nonbeliever. I think it's very important as a Christian to be a good role model and never fight or argue about God because to me it really gets you know where and if anything makes Christians look bad. It is so heartbreaking to see people angry with God, the person who sent His only son to die for us so we could make it into Heaven. I think all you can do is pray for that person and say Jesus loves you. People get very angry with God after a loved one dies, but it is important to remember God has a bigger plan that we can't see and He brings people home even if we don't know why. My very good friend died in Iraq and of course I was sad, but I never got mad at God or Bush because he chose to fight in the war, no one forced him so there was no one bigger to blame for it. Hope this helps!

Have you ever read Galatians 5:19-21? If you haven't you should, it points out sinful nature. In verse 21 it clearly points out that drunkenness will not get you into the kingdom of God. There are other sins that are pointed out like jealousy, envy, and even sexual immorality. This is like what the world lives off of. I'm not saying it's easy, in face, I think a lot of people struggle with these sins. One of my buddies just the other day said he didn't see anything with him going out and getting drunk. These verses didn't even come to mind. I think it's important to pray before you witness to people so that God will be speaking through you and you'll always say the right thing.

jamiesky said: This one helps me everyday:
* I asked God to spare me pain.
God said "No", Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

That is so true. I think the majority of people who get saved are the ones who are suffering and in pain. It seems to be that the people who have money, nice jobs, clothes, a home, nice cars and so on don't see the reason to need God because they already have it all. It is during those lowest times in life when we seek God's grace and forgiveness. But remember even if you aren't struggling in life, PEOPLE NEED THE LORD!

The friend I have known the longest got this girl pregnant a couple years ago. I was able to hang out with her and talk about something and you know what she told me? She said her parents were never there for her as a child and she basically raised herself. She said she wanted to get pregnant to have someone who would always love her and be there with her. Isn't that sad? She is looking for love in all the wrong places. She just wanted a child its sounds like for possession reason. Maybe if parents had more family time things like this wouldn't happen.
