Stealing Money

In London, a doctor’s surgery manager stole around $106,000 because she was addicted to slot machines and internet bingo. The 36 year old did this by giving herself a raise, forged checks and scammed the office by paying off her debt. She got caught because the surgery’s bank manager raised an alarm when he found out the account has exceeded its $25,000 limit. If you look at the picture of this lady you would never guess she had this problem that she was hiding from everyone. It is so amazing to me to see the lengths that people go to, to aid their addiction. Now she is going to be in jail for this up to two years! Wow.

I had never heard of this before. That is really cool that an animal can help someone so much. Animals are great for that reason you gave, they don't judge us and love us no matter who we are or what we look like. I had a pony when I was younger and I would love riding her on the weekends. They are such beautiful animals and that's great that they found that they can help people like that.

Yeah, I agree that you should say something about it. drinking during your pregnancy is not a good thing to do and how could you live with yourself if something happened to your baby because of your actions. You need to be aware of what could happen. I just read yesterday that they found a link between drinking during your first trimester and adolescent obesity. Drinking can do so many things to your body and your baby when they don't even have a choice.

RE: How long can you go without watching TV?

I just moved to a new house and there isn't cable yet and I think I'm going to die! I had no idea how much I relied on the TV until it was gone. I've been watching DVDs every night and during the day to occupy my time. I think when I had cable I must have watched 5 or 6 hours during the day and more on the weekends. I remember when I was younger my mom would only allow me to watch like an hour a day and the rest of the time I had to be reading a book. I hated her for it then, but I can see why she wanted that for me.

It's really scary that it is that easy to buy drugs like that over the internet. When the internet first started I would have never guessed that it would be like it is today. It is a very scary thing if you don't use it the right way. Think of how many younger users can get drugs that easily and take them and give them to their friends.

I think that police officers have one of the hardest jobs. I mean the majority of people probably don't even like them, but they are saving lives by making the laws a little tighter and keeping an extra watch during the busy times. Thank you to all of our military and peace officers for making the world safer.

I wonder when Sober Living starts..yeah, I think all the cameras kind of mess with their sobriety and the fact that they are famous, I think they try to get away with too many things.

I think we should give the dad a little credit. He had an issue and he didn't know exactly how to handle it. Let's just hope he actually listens to the advice that was given to him.

I just read about a new book coming out about porn addiction and it is faith based from a man who suffered from this and only was able to get out of his addiction because of his faith in God. It's called Porn Nation so I think it may be worth getting if you know anyone who may have this addiction.

Did you know that if you have never smoked, but your spouse is there is a 42% increase in risk of having a stroke? For former smokers, being married to a current smoker was associated with a 72% increase in risk compared being married to a never smoker. These are not good statistics. Really talk to your spouse if you fall into these categories. This is not good for either one’s health.

Email Addiction

Here are some email statistics from around the U.S.:

NY: 61% of users say they check their email from the bathroom!

70% say they check it while they are in the pjs in bed, 60% in a restaurant, 39% while driving, 30% on a date, and from church 21%.

Houston: Here, 73% of people check their email from the bathroom, 78% in bed, 75% in a restaurant, 55% while driving, same 30% on a date and 30% from church. 51% say they are hooked on email, surpassing the national average of 46%.

Los Angeles: 12% had checking email from their family, 39% check it in the middle of the night, 47% check it from the bathroom, 64% in bed, 67% in a restaurant and 18% while on a date.

Wow, it seems like the statistics don’t change all that much throughout each city. Email addiction is really affecting people and their relationships with their family. It seems like work takes over these people and they must check their email even on the toilet!

If you have seen her body at all you know she isn't very big in her chest. For the promos for her new movie The Duchess, directors wanted to digitally enhance her A-cup chest. The actress refuses, saying this is her body and she doesn't want anything added to it. I think this is so good that she is taking a stand and saying no. Not everyone is super skinny and has a big chest. I think she is stepping up and being a good role model about self image and the bodies we are made with.

X Files star David Duchovny who played Fox Mulder is currently receiving treatment for sex addiction. He said in a statement, "I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family." It said he went voluntarily and I think that’s really good. He knew he needed help and he did something about it. I think that is good for him and his family.

I just read a story in my local newspaper about a guy who murdered his wife and was sentenced to 6-15 years in prison. The defense argued that the husband was suffering from bipolar disorder and it got me thinking... I mean this kind of situation happens a lot where someone who has some sort of mental disorder murders someone and sometimes the person doesn't have to go to  jail at all, but get psychological treatment. So my question is...is that right?  I mean you committed the crime should you have to do the time no matter what?

Have any of you guys seen this movie? I bring it up because of Jack Black's character was addicted to heroin in the movie and I wanted to know if people really think that's funny.. I mean addiction is a serious thing and they brought up some sensitive subjects that could have been really hurtful to people. In real life Jack Black was addicted to nicotine, but his wife and he just have another baby and he quit. I think that's wonderful.

My best friend was struggling with anxiety issues (long story), but I totally understand what she is going through. She has been going to counseling, but for the last 8 months started dating this guy who is a smoker. She was a social smoker before, but now she turned to a chain smoker. It's so sad to see and I feel like because of all her stress and anxiety she is turning to something else for relief and it's not the right thing for her. It's so unhealthy and because of her given circumstances something she should not be doing. What can I do as her friend? I don't want to be bossy and I feel like whenever you tell someone to quit smoking it kinda makes them do it more.. any advice??
