I love hearing people's testimonies.  That's great that you decided to give everything to God, I'm sure you feel so much better now.  When I finally decided to give my life to God, I felt this inner peace like I never had to worry about things again.  I used to lose sleep at night because I'd stress about absolutely everything.  Now I pray about everything and truly know in my heart that God will take care of me.

I think this is a better solution than the kids going into foster care.  Once they're given to CPS, it's so hard to get out of the system.  Aunts and uncles have been stepping up to take kids in too.  I'm glad that some of my close friends were saved by family members because who knows where they would've ended up?
"At least they're doing it at home"

While growing up, I heard a lot of my friends say that their parents let them drink at home once in a while.  The parents claim, at least they're doing it at home and I know they're not driving around and getting into trouble.  But this only seems okay to the parents because alcohol is a normal thing in their lives, so if their kids drink too, it's no big deal.  But this same reasoning applies to drugs too in some households.  Now that authorities are cracking down hard on meth houses, they're finding the conditions some kids are in.  One family that was busted gave their kids meth for christmas presents.  One mom would do meth with her kids and claim, at leas they're doing it with me at home.  I can't understand this, but as I can see, meth takes away your reasoning, all of your emotions.  Once they get their kids taken away, it's a wake up call, but sometimes it's too late.
Alcoholic Seizure

This opened up my eyes more than anything. A close friend of the family recently had a seizure due to his alcoholism.  He was getting into bed and fell into a seizure and his wife started pumping his chest in fear of his erratic breathing.  He had been trying to quit and may have fell into a withdrawals which caused the seizure.  Now he drinks low alcoholic beer and is weening himself off it alcohol.  He says he's sharper now and has more energy.  I nearly started crying when I heard about this, but I'm glad this was a wake up call for him and his poor wife is now happy that he's changing.

If you keep doing that, then you may never get over them.  I don't see the difference, why not still be together?  One person will always end up getting hurt.

That is really weird, but who would buy Benadryl from a dealer when they could just go to the store to buy it?  Hmm, maybe she was heavily on drugs and decided to pull some illegal bs.  It makes me mad when people in medicine abuse their authority.

"Without friends no one would choose to live, though he had all other goods."

"What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies."

"True friendship is a plant of slow growth..."

"It [friendship] redoubleth joy, and cutteth griefs in halves."

"Life has no pleasure higher or nobler than that of friendship."

"God... send me a friend that will tell me of my faults."

"The best mirror is an old friend."

"No man is the whole of himself; his friends are the rest of him."

"To a friend's house, the road is never long."

Apparently now more than one in four Americans are obese.  And the South tips the scales again as the fattest region.  Colorado was the least obese, with 19 percent fitting that category.  Mississippi has the highest obesity rate, along with Louisiana, Alabama, West Virginia, and Tennessee.  To me, these numbers are pretty scary, because the report said the rates for children are similar.
Top Ten Reasons to Avoid Processed Foods..

1. They're dead. Much of the goodness is cooked or processed out of our foods. We do not benefit from the enzymes and nutrients the foods normally contain. Dead foods equals dead cells.

2. Lose money. Although fruits and vegetables often appear to be expensive, they are often less expensive than processed foods. Fresh broccoli can cost $0.78/lb, while frozen broccoli can cost $1.19/lb.

3. Wrong market. When you spend money on processed foods, you encourage growth in this market. Spending your money on fruits and vegetables, preferably organic, encourages others to enter this market.

4. Fortified with synthetics. To make up for the loss of nutrients during processing, synthetic vitamins and minerals are added. Although helpful, these synthetics are not as healthy as their natural counterparts.

5. What nutrients? Processing takes a lot of the nutrients out of nutrient-rich foods. You get little that your body needs.

6. Mystery ingredients. Many processed foods are filled with strange parts and pieces. For example, hot dogs contain "edible offal": animal skin, snouts, ears, esophagi, etc.

7. Hide and seek. Processed foods often contain hidden sugar, salt, and fat. All three of these contribute to health problems.

8. Unhealthy additives. Unhealthy chemical additives are added to foods so that they will stay fresh longer, or to enhance color.

9. They ruin your taste. Processed foods contain refined sugar, extra salt, and other flavor enhancers. Not only are these often unhealthy, but they dull your taste buds to natural flavors. The result? A need to eat more processed foods to get the taste you want, and natural foods that don't taste as good as they should.

10. You're not listening to your mother. Mom said eat your veggies, not processed foods. And she was right.

An addict will always have an excuse for using.  A friend of mine was raised by both parents, has never seen his parents argue and his family is very well off.  He describes his childhood as perfect.  But still, he remains addicted to marijuana, and even used cocaine in the past and has a DUI.  I think I had a worse childhood than he did, my parents are divorced, and my dad was an alcoholic.  But I don't do drugs/smoke/ or drink alcohol.  I think it just depends on how strong of a person you are to resist drugs.  A good childhood filled with trips to the beach and even a stay at home mom doesn't ensure your character and motivation.  It provides security, but you still need parenting and good role models.
Service dogs can curb anxiety

More people with mental illnesses such as anxiety disorder, PTSD, and even autisim are relying on service dogs to help them manage their disorders.  One woman, a 67-year-old former medic has PTSD and has a chihuahua that barks when someone is approaching her from behind and will cuddle in her lap when she is feeling depressed.  These dogs are trained to sense when their owners are having an anxiety attack.  Another owner has a Bermese mountain dog that will come up and touch her, which is enough to break the loop and bring her back to reality.  Sometimes she will scratch her hand until it's raw and won't realize until her dog comes up to her and brings her out of it.  Her dog acts as a grounding influence to her.
Service dogs help their owners with isolation which can be onset by panick disorders.  They are forced to go outside to care for their dogs and eventually can get use to dealing with life and managing their anxiety in a healthy way.

The biggest indicator for me is when I start 'secret shopping.'  I have a fiance and we have a joint account that we share.  But this last month I noticed a tax refund had been deposited into the joint checking account and I went straight to the mall and bought a 100 dollar pair of shoes.  It's like it was never there.  He didn't end up finding out about my purchase until a month later.  I was trying to be super sneaky about it, and it was kind of like, "I think I'll head down and buy some new shoes."  This incident started a series of secret shopping, I'd buy things and stuff them in my trunk and eventually to my closet. I think my habits are fairly typical, but now that we're closer to getting married, I feel bad spending behind his back.  I now consult with him and we think if I really need a certain item or whether the money could be better spent on something we can both enjoy. :)
Concerned :/

I'm concerned about my boyfriend whom I've been dating off an on for the last five years.  He recently moved into his own apartment with roomates and they like to have big parties.  I can understand that, it's fun having friends over and all that.  But I'm concerned because my boyfriend has a history of drug use.  I'm scared that if he's put in an environment where other people are doing drugs and drinking a lot that he might start doing drugs again.  When he's around his friends, he talks like he's down to do cerain drugs like Thizz and Shrooms, but he's told me in the past that he's done with all of that. It's hard to get through to him when I really don't want him to, but his friends think it's no big deal.  He's been clean for a long time and I really hope he doesn't start up again, I definately will have to say See Ya if he goes down that road again.

Hahaha I think everyone does that to some extent.  I usually do that
when talking to some guys, like which girls they're talking to and
such.  You can tell a lot about a person by looking how people talk to
them in comments.

I heard the 5 hour energy shot works really well and you avoid the 'crash' associated with energy drinks, although I've never got that lol.  I'm the type of person that doesn't have much caffeine in the first place, so even a soda is like an energy drink.  But anyone who drinks 6-8 cans is retarded (sorry) but that's just asking for a heart attack!

Tanning beds give the obvious orangish glow.  Often times, it can give you a nice golden, brownish tan but that never lasts, the off-set color is what actually sticks.  It also stains your teeth, is extremely bad for your eyes, and also your skin!   I don't understand why some people care so much about being tan, but I guess it can be understood as an obsession.

Miley cyrus is probably the biggest Disney star right now and she's soo skinny.  I know she's only thirteen and is naturally thin, but that could send the wrong message too.

You're right, that is a very sophisticated meth lab, it really sounds like a laboratory.  I wonder how people knew there was meth being produced if they had a ventilation system.  The smell of meth is very strong, sometimes you can even smell it by just driving by.  Maybe they were dealing it out of their property also.  But still, even though they were using safe practices to make the meth, it's still so dangerous.
Alcohol Concoction Kills 12 Teens

In Indonesia, twelve teens have died due to a home brewery mixed with vodka and kratingdaeng, a locally made drink to boost stamina.  Apparently 12 teens died after consuming the alcohol, and ten others were hospitalized.  Some are even seeking recovery at home out of shame from seeking treatment.  What were these kids thinking!?  How could they not realize what they were drinking was extremely strong?  They must have drank a lot!

I remember when I was in elementary school, everyone was obsessed with the computer game RuneScape.  It's a pretty fun game, it has a lot of features, but it's actually pointless and addictive.  One of my friends logged into his account from years ago and it still worked, he started paying again and he even failed a class because he wouldn't do the work for it. He would just play RuneScape all day!  I finally yelled at him one day because of how stupid I thought the whole game was and how he's letting it ruin his life.  He doesn't play it anymore but his account is still there and his player is very valuable, he could even sell it on ebay for $10,000 if he wanted to.

I think it's a terrible idea.  Why don't we just make a school for every issue then?  A school for obese?  A school for every isssue is not a good idea.  If they choose that as their sexual orientation, they have to realize that there are going to be issues and not everyone is willing to accept it.  In fact, they don't even have to publicize their orientation and openly express it.  I can understand the willingness to pull them out of public schools, but like you said, it will probably create more problems.
Breaking the Cycle

The most important thing when dealing with addicted parents is to break the cycle of addiction and poor parenting.  A lot of children are raised by their grandparents because of ill-equipped, drug addict parents.  But it doesn't have to stay that way.  Sometimes generations follow this pattern, which isn't right.  I know it's hard, but it's up to the kids to determine whether they're going to make the same choices their parents did.
