smoking ban in athens

Did you know that in Greece 45% of the adult population smokes cigarettes? That's almost half, that's such a large percentage. They are making new laws banning smoking in public places. They have previously tried to ban smoking in cafes, bars and businesses, but the public didn't respond. Now they are making it illegal and going to fine businesses 3000 euros and individuals 300 euros. Hopefully this will help people quit smoking and bring down the percentage. It seems like more and more places throughout the world are trying to ban public smoking, even though for years people have known how bad it is for them!

I believe that it is already legal to smoke marijuana in Denver. I think they can carry like an ounce on them or something like that. I guess there was a drunk passenger causes problems there so now they are trying to find a new solution to help people relax, but not get crazy. I think it's a bad idea personally..

All this because of a sex addiction?

This is kind of a long story so I'll try to sum it up, but there was this guy who wasn't happy with his sex life and marriage so he joined an online sex and swinger site. He got so wrapped up in everything he started to search the internet on how to kill people and things about suicide. People assume it was him, but days later his wife and daughter were killed with his wife's stepdad's gun. He fled the country and went to Europe. Kind of a weird story.. It just shows yet again the lengths that people go to when they are in their addiction. It's like why didn't you just get a divorce if you weren't happy, you didn't have to kill your family.

Sheryl Crow has also recently said that she has had problems with suicidal thoughts. It's like from the public's view point, these people have perfect lives and no one knows what they are struggling with or problems they are facing. We see them as being rich and famous so we assume they are happy.
9 years old drunk?!

Police spotted a 9 year old and two 14 year olds walking around drunk at 1am. The youngest was throwing up and all 3 were taken to the hospital. "It's very surprising and actually quite disgraceful, to find someone as young as nine not only on the streets at that time, unsupervised, but with his level of intoxication," said Mark Watson an acting inspector. That is crazy. When I was that age I had to be home at like 9pm. There is no reason for this, where are the parents?

I think it's good that she is willing to give back to her community and help others with something she struggled with. I think when celebrities come out with this kind of secret they are putting their career and reputation on the line.

Do you think it is right for police officers to have underage people go undercover to try and arrest people for buying them alcohol? I just heard another story of this happening in Virginia. I think that even though it is sneaky they should do it. It's like the same thing as motor cops hiding behind bushes to give you a speeding ticket. People shouldn't be buying you alcohol if you are underage and the more people they catch doing this the less likely that person is to do it again.

His movie Batman is coming out soon and I don't know if I can go watch it. Him being the joker in the movie is scary enough, but to know he died and it had partly to do with the movie and the stress he was under makes me not really want to see it.

This old man (78 years old!!) that traveled by ferry to Denmark to drink. He spent all his money drinking and couldn't afford to ticket back home to Sweden so he stole a rowboat and figured the waves would push him home..well that didn't work and was later found by the Danish Coastguard. When he sobered up he was put back on the ferry home...wonder how he paid for the ticket haha

All of you folks who live in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Washington and now California have to live with that law of no talking on your cell phone while driving. I wonder how many people it's hurting since they aren't even allowed to touch their phones. No emails, text messages or making phone calls!
I love these!

Superman's not brave. You can't be brave if you're indestructible. It's every day people, like you and me, that are brave knowing we could easily be defeated but still continue forward.

do you think that people go to Starbucks because of the name or because they have good coffee? Same with Voss water I mean can you really tell the difference between it and a cheaper one? I think sometimes I do this. I want people to see that I can afford expensive drinks. can anyone agree or am I on my own? :)

This Wednesday night my friend broke down to me and started crying. She said she thinks she's addicted to shopping  and is in a lot of debt and it's causes major problems between her and her boyfriend. Her credit card is maxed out and she buys things like $200 straighteners, designer jeans at least a couple times a month, shoes and shirts. What can I do for my friend? She has spent so much money on clothes that she can't afford her car payment or any other bills. She makes payments to her parents who are threatening to take the car away if she can't be more responsible. HELP!!!

My parents weren't really like this, but some of my friends are. When I moved out my dad said that it was one of the biggest compliments because it was telling him that he raised me the right way to be able to be on my own and take care of myself.

Did any of you catch the Wisconsin game last weekend? They barely won with a three point lead against the 25th team. Their linebacker Jonathan was caught by campus police while driving his moped drunk. His alcohol blood level was .15 and the legal limit is .08. He won't be missing any games, they said the worst penalty he can get is a $300 fine, a $355 surcharge and a 9 month suspension of his drivers license.

My friend's little sister told her that a group of girls in town created a MySpace I guess kind of like Gossip Girls and talks badly about a bunch of different people from the high schools. How ridiculous is that? It amazes me what teens do to others teens to bring them down and talk badly about them  and I'm sure their information isn't even correct about them but they are just gossiping.

I just try staying in bed to try and relax and fall asleep. If that doesn't work I usually get on the internet, but that usually never helps me fall asleep because then I get preoccupied and don't realize how late it's gotten. Try reading in bed and just relaxing with your eye closed.
