Good work! Just sustain what you did right last week and you are on your way to full recovery. Being able to go through a week without giving in to your addiction is already an achievement. Keep it up and congratulations!

Like the many others that feel they are too fat, I am had gone through that dilemma. I tried everything exercise, diet, slimming teas, and all the works. None worked. I half-heartedly tried diet pills and that did it for me.

Sex is a part of life and we can't deny that. What makes porn bad is it reduces the act into something distasteful, disgusting, and animalisitic even.

Death is never easy. Like your girlfriend, I also talk about my mom as if she's still alive and here with us. I still don't know when I'll stop crying when I think of her. But I know in time, I'll be over mourning for her.

There's no easy way to stop. That, I know for sure. You have to be patient and let your recovery to addiction proceed as it should. With the right outlook, you can get over it.

Chocolates are yummy. I usually eat a bar or two after eating dinner or lunch. But it piles so much fats on my belly so I have to regulate my eating habits too.

In my personal opinion, casinos do contribute to gambling addictions. It's hard to be addicted to watching TV if you don't have one or have never seen one. The same thing applies to casinos.

Yeah, I suppose it is. I remembered chatting to somebody I don't know for 2 straight hours. I am not so good at talking about my personal details but this man I'm chatting with had that way of making me. I never get to meet him though.

Way to go! And you have really counted up to the very day. If you have been free 2 years from smoking, you can definitely say you no longer are an addict and can stand the sight of cigarettes without smoking them!

If you'll ask me, I don't know the difference between the two. So in my opinion, they're one and the same. It's just that addiction is always related to something bad, while obsession may be used for something constructive even.

From what I know, anorexia is something psychological more than it is physical. Most of the time, people think they are fat even though they aren't. Most anorexics were able to find solutions to their problems through counseling and therapy. Am I right, Jolly Holly?

It's sad to lose friends and it's more frightening to know that the went because of something you have been using all along. I am glad you were able to give up those. Now that you're 6 months clean, you are half way towards recovery. Just never look back and keep going. And you'll be where you wanted to be.

That's correct. When I was a kid, I believe that I'll have nightmares if I failed to pray before sleeping. And nightmares occur to me everynow and then during that time. I remember waking up in the middle of the night all scared, crying, and never wanting to sleep again.

I remembered my highschool teacher telling us that going to the movies twice a week is okay. But if you go there more frequently than that, and never skip a week without watch a film inside a movie house, it's addiction. I don't believe him. Would you?

I concered about the rapid chain smoking theory. Won't doing that make your heart and lungs suffer? Is it really effective? Any negative side effects?

I think a Kleptomaniac's condition is psychological and they can't control what they are doing even if they wanted to. While an addict doesn't want to stop what they are doing because it makes them feel better somehow..

Well, much of it is because sex had trasformed into a commodity. Before it's sacred, now it can be bought. That's how dangerous the world is. Whoa! I'm scared already!

Kids can be told not to touch their computers outside the designated time. But for adults like us who have all the freedom in the world, it is not as simple. I remembered my sister being online all day, telling me she's doing a web design job. But at the end of the day, she hasn't completed much of the first page yet. And her client is furious. And what did she do all those time online? Chat, shop at ebay, and watch music videos. Oh well. Adults!

What you said was very alarming. People with mental disorders, especially those in their advanced cases, should be provided immediate treatment, and when needed, confined inside an institution. Not because they are abandoned but because they could cause harm to themselves and others.

I know hypnosis is fast becoming a good way to treat psycholocial problems. But I don't think I would be comfortable submitting myself to it. I know for a fact that you're always in control but the thing still frightens me.

When the parents are not there for their kids because of addictions, kids can try to turn to their friend for help. But it is important that these friends are good friends and not bad influences. If they were minors or merely school kids, teachers and a classmate's parent is a good source of help.

What a nice form of addiction! But then again, if it is not true love, it can be harmful. Two weeks of dating doesn't necessarily equate to love. Maybe she feels drawn to the person but what happens the next month? Does she desert her lover? Or is it the other way around?

I'm in the same boat as you are. I think my father is fast becoming a gambling addict too. And right now, I am not doing anything about it. I just make sure he don't get access to as many resources and money than he should. What I am thinking is that, if he wants to gamble, then he has to do it with his own money. Not mine or anybody else's. If somebody else has a better idea, I'd like to hear them too!
