Hello everyone,
I am new here and I have quite a story to tell.  I have been taking Lortab and Darvocet for over a year now due to chronic gout.  I was supposed to take them only when experiencing pain, but that developed into a little more here and a little more there until eventually I began stealing them from family and friend's medicine cabinets.  I do not need this medication every day, or every week, I don't have a constant need for them, its like when I want one, I want one.  I have come clean with family and friends and have admitted the problem.  Everyone is supportive of my recovery with the main concern that I get better.  I have been off painkillers now for about 2 weeks with only minor withdrawals.  I have small cravings for them now and again, but notheing that I consider major.  I just wanted to join here and be in contact with other people having the same problems.  I will keep you guys posted.

Hi everyone,
I am new to the site.  I have been taking Lortab and Darvocet on and off for a little over a year due to chronic gout pain.  I started taking as prescribed, developed tolerance and took a little more here and there, eventually stealing them from friends and family medicine cabinets.  I have come clean with them about this and they are very supportive of me.  I have been forgiven for my theft, but I can't seem to forgive myself for it.  I have been off pain meds for about 2 weeks now with only minor withdrawals.  I never needed this medication, I don't understand it.  I didn't have to take it daily, weekly or monthy, but when I was stressed, it was like a stress reliever.  I abused them, not sure if it was an addiction.  You will all be hearing more from me, just want to get my foot in the door and be around people who have the same problems.
thanks,
jrod
