My dad has had a drinking problem pretty much his whole life. A few years ago he set his mind to it that he wanted to quit and he did such a good job, he attended AA asked for help from all of us and you could tell he was putting so much effort into quitting. And he did. We thought he stayed sober but recently we came over and he didn't do such a good job at hiding the bottles. Now Im questioning whther he ever did quit, I tink he did because we lived with him at that time and never smelt or saw any alcohol and he always seemed sober. I know my dad can quit but it has to come from him, not us.

Test him to see if he can control hisself thats how you can truly find out and how he could stop beying in denial. have him not drink one sip of alcohol for a month.

Try letting them know the dangers of painkillers, and scare them about how much trouble they can get with with them. Because I know alot of kids use pills instead of other drugs because they think its safer and they wont get introuble at school or with cops but they can. and warn them about that. I hope it works..

My dad has had a drinking problem for most his life, but he stopped for a while. Recently we found bottles at his house again. Do you think that because my mother died last year and he is living alone thats why hes drinking again?

I really wouldn't want my kids exposed to it. I'd rahter them just figure it out on their own when they have to.

Ive heard of it, or those diet teas too. But those are so bad for health. They can ruin your digestive system and all drugs either from ex-lax, tylanol, to painkillers are so bad for your liver too. Your like ingesting your body with toxins and acids.
Pothead son

One of my best friends has a brother that is a total pothead. He's 19 years old and has a job but doesn't go to school and on his days off, all he does is stink up the whole house with weed. His mom will come home unexpected sometimes and flip out and threaten to kick him out. I can't understand the situation completely because I don't live there. But what is a parent suposed to do when they have a son/daughter that's an absolute pothead but is still dependant on you?

It's hard to tell whether things you hear about her are fake or real, but yes it was a hugh ordeal also when they came to physically take them away from her. She required a lot of attention but she's pushed everyone out of her life including her kids.

I think there's a zipcode locator on this site, it brings up all of the facilities around your area.

Not all kids are born with autism. Have you heard of that vaccine given to kids that can cause Autism? And it is slightly on the rise also, if you really do your research the numbers are increasing.

Yea he's gone before, but it was mostly for alcohol. He doesn't drink anymore but he never really stopped smoking the whole time he was in rehab. And he said that everyone in his rehab classes just talked about doing drugs anyway. And as for motiation, his parents said that they would pay for him and his girlfriend to go to Hawaii if he stopped smoking and he still hasn't.... he already has a nice car too.

I totally agree with you one this. I think it would be helpful also to start prevention programs for prescription drugs also. Kids think it's not big deal and they have no idea what their tolerance is and whether or not they're hurting their bodies.
