I never thought that drinking and boating was really that bad. Just because there's so much water in front of you and on the road theres cars all over the place. But recently they've been playing a bunch of commercials on the radio about boating incidents and each one is different and they're sad. I never could imagine a trip to the lake going that bad.

I've been down this road before and i really just need some encouragement from anyone. I've been to AA before, but have mixed feelings about going back. Does anyone know any good altenative to AA? What about online resources or forums? Does anyone know of any good online meetings? If so please reply here.

thx!

I dont think you should stop attending those meetings, its better if you go even if you dont want to and you dont think it's helping you it could be influencing you in ways you dont notice. Try also psychologists, maybe on this site too. I think I would do that. Stay on forrums like these that way if your going through a tough time at home and you want to use someone here could motivate you not to and a motivatioin helps a lot. Good luck I hope you stay sober.
Driving Drowsy

Did you know that driving drowsy is like driving drunk with an alcohol level of 0.1? Yet so many Americans won’t deprive themselves off driving drowsy. A dashboard camera caught a drowsy police officer driving. She was weaving across the road and barely missed bicycle riders and then hit some parked cars. She got out and inspected the damage before getting back on the road, and then an officer finally pulled her over.
I never knew driving drowsy was this bad. I do it all the time but never that bad. I also for some reason get really sleepy in cars, so when I’m driving for a long time I do start nodding off.

Would you ever want to move out and live on your own? I know when I was 18 all my friends did but I wasn't ready I stayed till I was 20 and only left because I had to for university. My parents were strict on me too. I didn't have to check in but I had an early cerfew and they would call every now and then to see where I was.

I so agree! It costs me almost $60 to fill up my car and I cant use the cheap gas on it. Crazy thing is just 4 months ago it only cost me $40 and I would complain about that. I want to just sell mycar and buy a smart car and look comical in it just so I dont have to pay for gas! I wish we could just use a tube of uraniam!

I can name 7 of my friends at the top of my head who have had this cosmetic surgery, and I bet kids do think it's wierd. One day they see their mom looking one way, but the next shes completely transformed. Its like seeing your mom with black hair when she drops you off at school and she picks u up with blonde hair. Children need to get sed to the idea of plastic surgery and what better way to teach them than with a book?

Thats true I agree. If they grow up reading this book then if their mom decides to get plastic surgery they wont be surprised by it. They wont be questioning her a gizillion questions because the book already talked about it. Its like if a parent gets married a kid doesn't have to ask what is a husband and wife and all the questions about it because they grew up reading books that said "they got married and lived happily ever after" they already know what it is, and with books like these they'll know what plastic surgery is also.

my parents never regulated my role models but they did point out all their flaws. Like if they had a promiscous image and the people on TV talked about it, they would be all "would you want people saying these things about you", it never really worked on me though because all i'd reply with is "if I was that rich and famous why not??" But after I got older I kind of just grew out of that stage myself.

I agree with you SMILEY.. Also some people dont like talking about their breakups, I think it is very good to talk about it, and it helps alot to get things off your chest. Also theres things you sometimes think in your head but you dont want to talk about, like certain flaws in your relationship. Bringing all those out helped me alot.

I have a friend who takes them EVERYDAY a few times a day and she says its because she gets really bad headaches. But what she isn't realizing is that these headaches she's getting is from withdrawal from Vicodin. She used it for fun at first but now its a habit and she needs it.

That must be so horrible. It looks like she turned her whole life around though. And she was so young when she got arrested. I think her sentence was a bit too long, and the way she has been living her life must account to something right? But the law is the law, whether its justice or not. If they let her off the hook then why not all the other fugitives and convicts in the world?

A few months ago it seemed like my whole life was going downhill. I found out some horrible news about my partner and I couldn't even handle it I was in shock. I also went very broke and was in debt, but luckily my parents helped me through the debt part. I also had ongoing fights with my parents and everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong. But seriously with in a week all my problems got solved. I learned to forgive my partner and work things out, she was trying harder than ever and she proved her love to me. My financial problems were solved and I was getting along with my parents all over again. And to make things better I got to go on an unexpected vacation for a week and also cleared my head with that and relaxed me. I really think its amazing how God can solve all your problems suddenly and in such unexpected ways.

We get help from God in very unexpected ways, even sometimes in ways we think are horrible but just what we need to be better people. Nothing but time will let others realise that.

These remind me of those little sentences they put in Dove chocolates. They always cheer me up, they say things like "sing with the elevator music", or "smile, its contagious", "One little smile can fill the room with sunshine."

my family's TVcrazy we spend more than $100 a month on TV. We have a few satelites and cable so theres always something to watch on all the TV's. I'm not complaining I love it but I do agree we go a bit too far.

lol I remember when MTV used to play music too. Kind of ironic (music telivision) plays reality shows more than music. I never got into the reality shows they got boring. Even the MTV shows I never really liked those but I like soap operas on ABC those are interesting.

I knew this old lady who told me when she was younger she had a gambling problem. Her method of getting easy money was slamming on her breaks and getting cars to rear end her. She gets money for medical supplies and insurances usually give her the high price on her car. She would earn up to $6,000 just got gambling. I thought this was totally messed up and so did she. She kept telling me she was ashamed of the things she did and she regrets it big time. She hasn't gambled for 10 years though.

I agree people should just learn to limit themselves. Just because one person messes up doesn't mean he should kill it for the rest of us who dont go out of control with gambling.

I've had pretty good luck with gamiling. I'll start gambling with a hundered but end up winning a few more. So I cant complain much. But I'm not a compulsive gambler nor do I gamble much. Just a few times a day... lol justkidding, a few times a year.

I think parents would get angry. What if it lead them to trouble. Especially if they were under the influence, they would be more scared about getting introuble and going to jail then hurting their child when they could just make up with their child the next day.

I think if a parent is of harm to the child then they should be taken away. But if a parent has an addiction but is not around the child when under the influence and keeps the drugs in places the child can never find, and is in no way abusive to the child, then the child is safe to stay with their parents. But if a parent is carefree and has the drugs lying around all over the place, its safer to take the child away but still let the child keep in contact with their parent. You can just deprive a child from his parents no matter how bad they are.
5 year old with drugs

A mother of a five year old is arrested for cocaine possession unlawful marijuana possession and child endangerment after her 5 year old son pulled out a 7.6 gram back of marijuana out of his pocket to show his classmates and teacher. The teacher alerted school officials who searched the boy and found 2 grams of crack rock cocaine in his pockets also. As the search was going on the boy’s mother called to pick him up.
The boy got the drugs from his mothers drawers but didn’t know they were drugs. He of course wasn’t disciplined for bringing the drugs to school. The mother was arrested at her home and officials are now looking for her brother since they found a 1.4 gram bag of marijuana in his room. Police say their home was a known drug house in East Nashville.
There were 4 kids living in that house from 8 months old to 7 years old. How can a parent have that much drugs lying around when they are surrounded by children? The least they could’ve done was hide it somewhere proper where it’s not in the kids reach.

Thyroid problems can cause a lot of different things huh? I've realised that. My friend has a thyroid problem and keeps gaining weight, my aunt has it and she loses a lot of weight. It can also cause you to lose hair. I guess now it can change your mood too?
