I've been smoking for 25 years now, and i have two twin babies, and a beautiful 9 year old daughter. i know its really bad to smoke around them its its bad for their health too. and i know it would mean the world to my daughter if i quit smoking, but i cant seem to do it. i tried the gum and the patches but they dont seem to be working. i always end up craving a cig. does anyone have any suggestions of how i could stop? what has worked for other people? i realy want to make my daughter proud and keep my children in good health.

wow smookey, your story is really amazing. i wouldn't be able to handle it and be as strong as you, i dont know how crazy i would have gone if i was in your position, if you can conquer all that, then that really inspires me. and i think that if i try hard enough i can conquer and beat up my smoking habit.

OM i dont think you should be getting her more worried. im sure if you stick right by your sons side kitty and show him as much support as he can get everything will turn out alright. your very lucky to have him only addicted to marijuana, thats one of the basic drugs to heal from, and i really think he can do it.

i dont think thats an addiction though. i mean i love watching ugly betty its my favorite! i always make sure to stay at home thursday nights and watch it. and even when im bored i go on line and replay it but i really dont think its an addiction. its not like your whole life revolves around it and that you cant make time for anything else

wow i realy like the way that you put it oreos. i always get dreams about me being with my grandpa again, and everytime i see him he always has a present for me because he died on my birthday and i stay depressed for like the whole week because i just miss him so much but i guess your right, when im with him in my dreams, its better than not being with him at all. i think you should think of it this way too confused and just hope to get dreams about him everynight

take this step by step. to get over your fiance what you could do is try to stay busy, meet new guys and you'll slowly get over him. hang out with your dad as much as you can to keep busy and to gain as much time with him as possible.and dont think that hes going to die because some cancers are curable. and whatever you do dont go back to using drugs because it will just make things worse. drugs never make things better, they trick you and then screw you over.

i dont think that you should keep thinking that hes going to die, what if he gets cured? but if i was in your position, i would spend as much time with him as possible, let him know everything youve wanted to say to him. keep telling him how much you love him and how great of a father he is and things like that. but if he does die i really dont think theres anything you can do to stop the pain, all you can do is make sure you have no regrets.

Dont you think that this is going way into depth? Yeah theyre celeberties and many have drug addictions, but the only thing that makes them any different from many of us is that they have cameras surrounding them and much more money. Other than that theyre just normal people with drug addictions, its hard for anyone to over come one so just because stars like lindsay lohan have gone in and out of rehab doesn't mean she does it for attention or anything, she could just really be addicted. And honestly for me if i had all that pressure from the media about my drug abuse then it would be really hard for me to quit too, even after all that time in rehab.

I think obsession is just a few steps below addiction. Obsession is when you like it a lot and have a bit of control, but addiction, you have no control, the addiction controls you. However obsession could lead to addiction. Am i getting confusing?

You can die from tanning? I never heard of that. I've only gone tanning maybe 5 times for formal and i liked how it gave me a tan while it was dark outside and in the middle of the winter. But in the winter you're allowed to be white, everyones white in the winter. And the ones that are tan obviously isn't natural. I love laying out in the summer though, i love the sun, and the smell of the tanning oil and the water everything, so i think thats the best way to get tan. Plus it gives you a much nicer color :)

I never heard of marijiuana being mixed with tobacco? And I used to be really into it. The way i see marijuana is its the same as alcohol. they both give you a high that lasts for a few hours, and you cant drive on both, theyre both natural not man made like meth, and theyre probably the least damaging drugs. If you look at the side affects of marijiuana its like the same as smoking cigaretts, only a little worse, and alcohol just messes up you're liver, right? I'm not 100% sure but i think thats about it.

My uncle told me a while back that the reason they made marijiuana illegal is because it brought down the sales of alcohol, which brought down the economy, and honestly makes a lot of sense. Why would you risk a hang over if you can just get high and feel great the next day?

I dont think depression leads to all addicitons. Many people who are very happy in life start doing drugs because they enjoy them, and then become addicted to them and depression has nothing to do with it.

I've been in a position somewhat like this before. In my first years of high school my cousin and I were best friends, she was so much fun, never a dull moment and an all around great person, but the problem with her was whenever she would get introuble, she would blame it on someone else and make it seem so believable. And of course what kind of parent would want to believe their daughter was wrong so they went a long with it. I got introuble for stuff that you couldn't even imagine and I kept giving her second chances. But then I finally decided to keep away from her and talk to her and see her from time to time. Not only was I not getting introuble for things I didn't do. But she also stopped doing all the stupid things she did.

What about for people who are already very addicted to gambling? Do they have to go to treatment to get better? Or what exactly do they do?

When my sister was young the only way we could get her to eat is by putting her infront of the T.V. She wont eat anything if shes not busy watching something. So thats what we would do for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but it didn't make her any less intelligent. Infact she skipped first grade and has never gotten less than a A in any subject. I guess the only down side is she still has to watch T.V. to eat.
