RE: Re: Has anyone ever purged ?

I used to be the type of person to purge.  It's an urge, a need inside you that you can't control.  You look in mirror and only see what's wrong with you, it's never enough.  Once I'd lose 10 pounds, and I'd have to lose 10 more the next week.  Purging hurts and it's a way of having control in your life, but binging and purging is so unhealthy and it doesn't work.

If a drug user or whoever committed a crime and got off easy, then they'd probably be more likely to commit that crime again.  It's important to give everyone the same punishment, but based on what led that person to commit that crime.  But either way, it's important to offer them help too.  I heard for every $1 spent on prison, it's equal to $7 in a treatment facility and the outcome is ebtter too.

Those are legitimite reasons but still, why be unhealthy and let yourself gain a ton of weight just to get plastic surgery?  Wouldn't you want to remain thin and healthy your entire life so that you don't have to waste all that time and money with surgery.  I'm the type of person  who's against plastic surgery.... one day you come back to your life and  you look completely different, what's the point?

And they can always come out with new sites after the old ones are banned.  I used to use one of the largest pro ana sites and the people helped me through a lot of my hardest times.  Some have the disease more serious than others, but it's always a daily struggle.  It's weird how other people don't even think twice about food, but with ana, it's like every bite is torture.  I used to feel like food was disgusting and that if I ate it then I was disgusting, it's really an exhausting way of living.

I think it's fair for her to get arrested because we all know this isn't the first time she's smoked crack or marijuana.  She's had a constant battle with drugs and her getting arrested could do her some good like a wake-up call.  Celebrities shouldn't be able to get away with that behavior, no more than any regular person should.
Seizure Drug Treats Alcoholism

A drug used to treat epilepsy, called Gabapentin, was tested recently for alcoholism.  Patients that took Gabapentin drank significantly less alcohol than patients who didn't take the medicine.  The researchers said the patients reacted really well to the drug.  It used to be given to patients to reduce alcohol consumption and cravings following detoxification.  This research is really promising, I'd really consider taking this drug... I'd like to see more research on it though.  It could help a lot of people, give them that soemthing extra to help them quit.
Meth explosions

Almost everyday on the news I hear about either police catching meth dealers or a meth lab blowing up.  It's so ridiculous, don't these people realize how dangerous cooking meth is?  It's all flammable chemicals and there's more than likely more than one cooker.  The thing that gets me is they always have kids around the house.  These kids end up with all of these toxins in their system and most of them test positive for meth, by just being in the house.

Ya I did hear about this... very sad story.  I think it was more than one kid actually, and they had sling shots in their pockets too so yes, they were teasing him.  I couldn't believe they did this, but hopefully it can teach other people a lesson about something not to do when you're stoned..!

I feel a connection to the show and admire a lot about these women because they are so independent, they get what they want, and it's obvious that they deserve it.  I now see nothing wrong with waiting to get married to the perfect guy, because there's no reason to settle for someone.  That's what I like about the show, I could do without all of the sexual content, but that makes it interesting too. :P
Bonded By Pornography

I've met a few friends that were addicted to porn... a lot of people think it's okay, but it's really not, it's sinful.  But the problem is, once you start viewing it, it becomes a part of your life and you become addicted t it.  But it's not like there's rehab for porn addiction, well not that I know of, but we can rely spiritually, to overcome this addiction.  Everytime you sit down and start viewing porn, there's things you're not doing to prevent you from watching.  1.  You were not in prayer with God,  2. You were not reading your Bible, 3. You were not doing something to help someone else, 4. You were not at your job or doing school work, whcih God says is good, 5. You let yourself get away from God, 6. You let yourself get away from people, 7. You turned on your computer, 8.  You didn't do enough to prevent web access, 9. You have high speed Internet access, which makes things easy to access, we could go on and on...
But the bottom line is, #1, stop thinking about yourself.  Remember your faith and your place in this world.  Know that this very moment is your life and there's good ways of living it and there's wrong ways.  So go live in the way of the calling that you have heard.

What is up with this??  I read a story just today about a teacher who brought alcohol for his hockey team while away at a tournament.  Teachers/ministers are supposed to watch over our kids, not corrupt them with alcohol.  It's ridiculous to think that they are going to get away..
Strip club raids put dancers in a bind

Police have been cracking down on strip clubs in LA that have been suspected of prostituting.  Unfortunately, this is putting dancers and other employees in a bind because they now have no way of paying rent/tuition.  I've always felt that stripping/dancing for money was a trashy thing, but it seems like most of the girls are just trying to make quick money to support their families.  I don't have any sympathy for the girls who are prostituting themselves and taking away customers from businesses where they are strict about no touching.  What are your opinions on this?

I saw that picture, it wasn't very flattering... and it looked like he was laughing in it.  I'd feel pretty embarrassed if I acted like that and then got arrested for it too.  Now everyone knows about it.  Why do celebrities think they can get away with this kind of stuff?

People usually become this way when they're bitter or angry about something.  Or when something went wrong in their lives, so they blame God for it.  I hope you can get through to him.  Now it's important for you to keep living righteously and set an example for him.

Cough syrup is like a mild opiate.  But the side effects of an opiate addiction are still present when someone is addicted to cough syrup.  And opiate addiction can be extremely painful, so people remain addiction so that they don't have to deal with the withdrawals.  Tremors, diarrhea, nausea, and pain around the abdomen are just some of the withdrawal symptoms..

It became really obvious that my disorder was getting too hard to control.  At the time my parents were pressuring me to go into an inpatient facility so I did.  I went to three different centers until I finally settled.  I started eating healthy foods and a lot of red meat and I worked out almost everyday.  Even when I started putting on weight, everyone was telling me how good I looked.  I finally felt like a whole person after that.  Some days I get anxiety about eating and gaining, but I'm still in therapy and learning how to control that.

This story is so sad.  Her brother must have been a mean person even before he started doing heroin.  I can't imagine how she felt, knowing how her brother put her in that position.  Older brothers are supposed to protect you and make sure you're safe from other men.

That's so great to hear, I bet you're really proud of him.  I have alcoholism in my family and i know from experience that alcohol can be a hard habit to kick.  Especially when you've been doing it for 7 years like your dad.  Let him know how proud of you are of him and how good his health will improve.
