Your story is very inspiring! That must've been a very tough time in your life, but ofcourse will totally be worth it. I hope you stay sober for life. Sober is the way to go!!

Thats really great about your sister. I think its wonderful when a person sticks to their new years resolution and kicking your addictions butt is probably the best new years resolution to be made.

My father has just started getting sober. He's been an alcoholic for 7 years and its tough on all of us. He decided to never touch the bottle 3 days ago and we didn't think he would last even till the night but it has been three days and hes doing great!! he's not the most cheerful person in the world and he is going through a lot of pain but now we all believe in him and believe he will make it through. We are all praying for him and hoping for your support also. Thanks.

I had a friend who went through this also. When I first met him he knew really everything about his religion. He prayed more than anyone I knew and went to church twice a week also. When things started going bad in his life he stopped everything. I was talking to him online and he asked me if I still prayed, I told him ofcourse I did and he admitted to me that he stopped. He said everytime he gets so into praying its like everything goes wrong in his life. But I pointed out to him maybe those bad things that are going on are actually gods doing to prevent him from worse things, and stop him from doing things that are against his religion. And its true, god wasn't punishing him he was helping him. After a few llong talks with him he went back to the way he was and went back to god. I dont think he'll leave his side again.

When I was younger I didn't leave everything to God, I believed in him but never really gave much thought to him helping me much. When I was 16 I was surrounded by more relgiious people and all the things they told me and the religious stories I heard were all so nice. I loved hearing them. I started really believing in Gods work, I put all my problems in his hands, I stopped asking for so much and began thanking. Ever since then I just feel carefree. I can be in the worst situation ever but I really know that within just a little bit of time God will get me out of it.

I've only went 2 days without sleep, but not out of depression or stress or aything like that. I was out and with my friends or my friends would be over and we just wanted to stay up. WE stayed up 2 whole days and then when we each went back to our own homes we slept soooo long! But I was so tired before that I didn't even feel tired anymore. if that even makes sense.

I think that the doctors are perscribing all these medications instead of giving the patient healthier things such as physical therapy because both the doctor and the patient are looking for the easiest solution and the quickest way. And a patient would probably prefer just taking a pill that will instantly help than go through a month of therapy to get  abit better. Most people are looking for an easy way out even if it means its bad for them. A lot of people dont think about the long run.

I think the people who do abuse these medication dont really think of it as abuse thats why when we hear something like its abused more than all those drugs put together it sounds like WOW!!! But if you think about it I can name about 10 people at the top of my head who enjoy these drugs but i can only name about 2 who do hard core drugs.

I really dont think smoking has anything to do with a gambling addiction. They're both two separate addictions.

a boy from china "kidnapped" himself and asked for $1400 ransom to buy a wii! he hired two men to kidnap him so he could get his parents money. how ridiculous is this?! it seems like kids are so desperate and are willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want. i would never even do that or think about doing that to my parents..wouldnt they wonder where he got that money anyways?

hahaha that kids got motivation. When he wants something it seems he'll do whatever to get it. Thats ridiculous but I also think its funny.

I think those movies may help the girls who have already gotten pregnant. But I really think whether movies like this come out or not teenage girls are still going to be the same.
