I trully believe that as long as you have the will to quit then you will. All you have to do now is take it one step at a time. Talk to your doctor about your problem maybe he could help you out with the withdrawals without having to go into a treatment center. But it really will be worth it. Its just a small portion out of your whole like that your going to suffer and the rest of your life will be great. You'll look back and think that this was the smartest decision you've ever made. Trust me its worth it.

Dont you ever get the urge to just drink a few more after your 1st or 2nd drink? What made you want to quit.

Amy Winehouse was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of possessing drugs. Police became suspicious after a video of her smoking crack cocaine appeared. She is released now. She has fought a very public battle against alcohol, drugs, eating disorders, and crack. The video also showed her snorting ecstasy and cocaine.
I don’t think it is very fair for her to get arrested over a video. If this wasn’t a celebrity, police most likely wouldn’t arrest them. I also think that since she is in the public eye so much it makes it a lot harder for her to overcome her addiction.

I do this.. how sad! I keep it under my pillow and I'll text through out the night and then when I wake up in the morning i read what I sent sometimes what I sent doesn't make sense but the other person gets it hehe.

I do that too. Or sometimes I'll be so tired and I dont know what I'm texting and I'll send blank messages or msg's to the wrong people. Its kind of embarassing at times.

I think as long as it gets you high, the addict isn't going to care how pure it is as long as he gets a nice high out of it.

Thats stupid if they think she's weak for reaching for outside help. I think maybe if she joins a church and starts getting involved in that, and having just one person help her through it someone she can totally trust and count on. She doesn't have to tell her parents she reached out for help, its her life she's living not her parents, she should make the better out of herself.

Church and the higher power can offer so much help and support for so many people, I just feel really bad for the non-believers. They have it much harder, they dont have the faith that all the believers have and wont get as much help. God loves everyone even the ones that dont love him and he will help them also but not as fast as the others. The non-believers are also missing out on meeting the people who can be the greatest impact on their lives.

I think they should go to jail for crimes they have commited, but their addiction should account to not as much jail time as a clear headed person would have. They should serve quite a while in a rehabilitation center to ensure that once this individual is back on the streets he or she will not retreat to drugs and repeat the same crimes.

Those people are risking their lives and other peoples lives also though. I think drunk driving is so bad and no one should do it. I also agree that driving drowsy is bad though because I have driven drowsy and hit a curb. I didn't sleep for 2 days and I was driving home to finally get some sleep but ended up dozing off at the wheel.

I would feel so stupid if I got into a car accident with a celebrity, let alone being drunk and hitting them. I really don't understand why people drink and drive..Where I live they are setting it up so that their are cabs waiting outside bars so they can take you home. I think that's a good idea, hopefully we see a decrease in alcohol related accidents.

I think the cabs outside the bars is a very good idea but they're probably very expensive though. I can imagine a celebrity stalker crashing into a celeb just to meet them tho. Not drunk though.

If I was going off to live in the wild, I still wouldn't get rid of all my stuff I would keep it just incase I want to come home. He doesn't know what he's in for in the jungle! I would also take my partner with me. If she didn't think I was completely insane and leave me by then.

I was in a very embarassing situation once though where I was at the grocery store and the bill came up to be $126.53, all i had was $96 on me and I had to put things back and there were people waiting in line also. After that incident I decided grocery shopping is meant to have a credit card.

I can totally relate to this as well. I actually only had a debit on me and being a student at the time, I had very limited funds in my bank account. I tried to stay within my budget but with all the taxes, I went over $14. The card kept getting declined over and over, and finally I just had to go through and remove the items I least needed.

LOL those stories are funny. Especially because it has happened to me a few times too, and the line is soooo long behind me and I would keep taking things out and seeing if I had enough cash I was mortified! I remember my dad once cutting my my moms credit card because she spent so much on it, but she just got angry over it and spent way over her limit on one that he didn't cut up,

Arent legal anethetics really hard to get though? Dont you have to be a doctor to get them? Thats crazy though I'm used to knowing that local anesthetics only numb the part of the body that its injected in.

SMILEY said: Wow that's a really big difference!  I'm just starting to realize how many people take methadone.  It's like everyone got so obsessed with meth, everyone was using, and now we're getting all of the after effects.  First it was meth babies, now it's gonna be methadone babies and methadone labs.

I think you got methadone mixed up with methamphetamine. you cant really have a methadone lab, thats for crystal meth. But they both are getting so abused. What I dont understand though is how are all these people abusing methadone when it doesn't even give you a high?? Your body just gets physically addicted to it because it starts needing it, but metnally it doesn't give you a high.

This is what makes gambeling fun, because once you lose it sometimes you gain it all back and more. I gambled with $200 once and lost all of it and I only had $10 left and ended up winning $215. But I think gambeling with more than $200 is just a waste of money because if you dont end up winning it back then I'd be soooo angry!

I'm not good at gambeling either but I think its worth it spending a few dollars for a little fun. It's like when you go out with friends to an expensive dinner, you could rather be at home or a fast food place where you wont spend as much money but every once in a while its good to splurge and have a good time with friends and I think gambling could be apart of that as long as its not taking over a life or going out of control. It shouldn'd be a daily thing or even a weekly thing. more like a monthly thing or more.

nomore08 said: I think that there is some link between crime and gambling. I live about 20 minutes away from a Casino in California right off the highway leading to it and that's the number one spot for drunk driving accidents and DUI check points. Casinos invite thousands of people to come drink and gamble and since the casino is up in the hills it's hard to get a taxi that late and that far away. So yeah I think if it does have any impact beside alleviating California's debt, it will be a negative impact.

But there are also a lot of toehr hot spots, clubs, bars, even house parties. Crime is going to happen either way, I dont think adding a few more slots in casinos will make that big of a difference. There are more of a percentage of non-addicted gamblers than there are addicted ones. And the ones gambling and causing crimes will be the same even if there were less slots.

I think what determines an alcoholic is when they drink all day. Atleast the timed ones can go a few hours without it.

I think its very important to let the person know ahead of time what your really about. If like you bella you dont like to party and be around drugs and alcohol and ur boyfriend does he should know that from the beggining of the relationship so that he doesn't bring you around it and pressure you to. Also if a person doesn't believe in sex before marriage, they should let their partner know and explain it to them otherwise their partner could think its dumb and pressure them into it. It's always the wiser decision to be open in the beggining of the relationship rather than down the line when your serious about each other.

  • Ignores responsibilities like work and school

I know a guy that commited scuicide by drowning himself in the pool. He did his homework, dried the dishes like he was supposed to, cleaned his room and wrote a note to his parents saying "I'm sorry for everything i cant live anymore". But his parents say he never did anything to hurt them or anything to be sorry for. He didn't ignore his responsibilities and his suicide was unforseen.

I'm total opposite of all of you. I cry about it right away and go crazy and hit things. And I'll go to one person I can trust and just try to get them to make things better. Even though they cant their words do help a bit.

2 of the people I graduated with died just this year, one of them was an ex boyfriend and we ended on bad terms but he was such a sweet guy and I just wish I could've made more of an effort to be friends with him. He died in a drunk driving accident, the driver was drunk and he was in the back seat, they hit a pole and he was in critical condition. Him and the other passenger in the back seat died that night. He's in all our hearts. Another one of the people I graduated with died in Iraq, I dont really know the details of how. But I think its just so sad how all these people are dying in Iraq and yet we dont seem to be making any thign better.

I would try visiting her every weekend that you dont have work. Put a picture of you and her by your bed side. When you see her tell her stories to ensure that she doesn't forget you even tho I'm sure she wont, its just times where she is just confused because thats what the disease does to you. Parkinsons is a horrible disease. But this is your grandmothers faith and you need to accept that. This is what God has written for her, dont remember her as the old lady with the horrible disease but as she was before the disease and reminiss those times with her and remind her of those times.
