what helped a lot of my friends after rehab was changing their surroundings. They stopped hanging out with the people they used to do drugs with, and stopped going to the places that they used to  go to to do drugs at too. Some even feel like moving helped them too. A guy I know moved to a whole different city and made new friends and he has been sober for almost 3 years, before that he was in and out of rehab and couldn't sober up. He said it helped him because he wouldn't be reminded of drugs by his friends and he woudn't be at places and remember that he did it there. He also didn't have hook ups at first in the new city. But he said his move there was his smartest decision.

I  went through this stage where I didn't want to drink but I felt like I had to infront of my friends. But I decided to just put my mind to it and stop. I remember it was on new years eve and I didn't want to drink while everyone was offering me, I told them that I really didn't feel good and I know I'll throw up if  I drink. Next time I told them i had to drive, and just kept making excuses untill I told them that I'm really giving up drinking. They still try to convince me but they know I wont give in.

I think the best way is quitting gradually but setting a specific date where your never using again. Like if a smoker cuts down to half a pack a day for a week then 4 ciggs a day for another week then one cigg a day for another week and on that friday never smoke again.

Heaven is supposed to be perfect, you have everything you want and theres no feelings of jealousy or envy or feeling that your better than somene or anything like that, in heaven you dont even remember that. The weather is always perfect theres no sense of time, boredom doesn't exist either. Nothing negative can be found in heaven.

zebralove said: I noticed lately that if I'm on the phone while the TV is on I totally ignore the person on the phone so I don't miss any of the dialogue on TV. How bad is that? The people on the phone get mad too, but I can't help it.

I'm like this too, the person on the phone will be asking for advice or telling me an important or funny story and Im just like "yeah" "uh huh" "thats funny" even if its not even funny. my responses dont even make sense but they start getting the point that I'm not paying any attention at all.

With my family were not allowed to talk at dinner because the TV is on and dad wants to watch the news. But I remember when I was a kid and there was no TV in the kitchen our family used to communicate more and we'd talk all together during dinner, that was family time. Now dinner is just news time.

I think getting them involved in sports, activities, things like that. But then also a lot of family trips and being involved in their lives. Not in an annoying way but a good way. Thatll keep them away from drugs.

I agree with LarryKing.. Just like how in some movies they may influence u to do it and make you start wanting to do it, in others it could influence you to stop and never go back. They could also teach you things.

Shopping makes me feel a lot better. I could be really stressed out over something and shopping will make me feel so much better. But I dont go so over board where I overdraft and not wear the stuff I buy. And if I do buy things that I think about later and know I wont end up wearing I exchange them for somehitng I would wear, and I get that high all over again!

I dont know how I fit into this categorie, but I basically buy just  to have more. When I clean out my closet and it looks empty I cant stand it I go and buy so many things just to fill it up. And I get sick of my stuff real quick so I just keep buying, and I feel so much better after I buy.

I really hope he gets hisself together. He's one of my favorite actors and I'll be really disapointed if he turns out to be like lindsay lohan or celebrities like that. He should try hard to keep his image good and not ruin his life.

I was watching the news when I saw a story about a 45-year-old woman who drowned in a sinkhole used primarily for cave diving. Her and her friends drove a golf cart onto a private area owned by a local cave diving society. They were drinking and she jumped into a water-filled sinkhole which was about 20 feet wide. When she didn’t come up for air her friend ran out of the woods for help. When she came back the body was floating, he tried mouth to mouth and she was brought to the hospital and pronounced dead.
