OO some more:
Dare to begin! He who postpones living rightly is like the rustic who waits for the river to run out before he crosses.

The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary

It isn’t your skills that are keeping you from succeeding; it is your attitude.

Every day, in every way, I’m getting better and better

My absolute faaavorite:
"Many of the most successful men I have known have never grown up. They have retained bubbling-over boyishness. They have relished wit, they have indulged in humor. They have not allowed “dignity” to depress them into moroseness. Youthfulness of spirit is the twin brother of optimism, and optimism is the stuff of which American business success is fashioned. Resist growing up!"

She may have had the disease all her life, but anorexics has periods that are worse than others.  She may just be at her worst point right now.  But you're right, her kids must be going through a lot of emotions seeing their mom like that.  My mother and I will often bond over food and it's fun.  We are not overweight, but she raised me and she likes to feed me and I love to spend time with her even if it's over a sandwich.

I like big dogs because you'll always have someone to hang out with.  Sometimes I'm at home between classes or I just want to take a break so I'll take my dog for a run or we'll go to the park for 20 minutes or so.  Yesterday I took my dog on a bike ride and I felt so great, it's the first time I've exercised in a while and we were both pooped at the end, but it was fun!

I always have dreams about things I stress about.  Lately I've been stressing about spending too much money and I had a dream last night that I kept buying all kinds of things and I had absolutely no money left.  Then this morning I realized that it was all a dream, but it was so scary.  I hate stressful dreams.

This guy I know used to be addicted to RuneScape, it's like this online civilization and you can go to different worlds and you basically fight each other and trade things.  But he had a 'party hat' which is really valuable in the game I guess, and in real life people will buy them on ebay for up to $10,000!  I thought the game was  retarded, but people were so obsessed with this p hat and the whole game it was so wierd.

Do you think deep down everyone has a reason that they're using drugs?  My best friend used drugs because he was extremely depressed and self-conscious inside but didn't want anyone to know about it.  And, others do it because they like the feeling, but there has to be a reason that they keep using even when they know if they don't stop, they're stuck with an addiction.

Things have been a little more easy going.  My mom and I are getting along.  I took your advice, I thanked her for worrying about me and I'm more glad to check in because it makes such a big difference to her.  She just hates asking me to call her, she just wants me to do things on my own.  So in a way, it's helping me be more adult.

I typed in that link, I can't believe that actually happend!  It literally looks like a scene out of a movie.  It's no joke though, weed is extremely easy to get in California, especially in the summer.

I think you should talk to him face to face and tell him how you feel about his habit.  Show him how easily he's going to get into debt if he doesn't quit soon.  Also tell him how much you care about him and that you're simply worried.  Also maybe you should mention something about it to his mom, if she doesn't already know.
Ketamine Dangers

Ketamine is probably not heard of by many people, but for some its known as that 'Special K.'  Ketamine is a legal anesthetic and comes in a clear liquid and a white or off-white powder form.  It can be injected, consumed in drinks, or added to smokable materials.  It produces similar effects to PCP, which was also used as a tranquilizer.  Ketamine was synthesized in 1962 in an attempt to find a safer alternative to PCP.  It's more likely to cause hallucinations and seizures, however unknown at the time, higher doses of ketamine produce an effect referre to as "k-hole,' or an out-of-body experience.  It is still used widely in veterinary medicine and for select human applications, and is often the subject of robberies.  If used over and over again, ketamine can shut down the motor controls and cause death.  Due to its dissociative effect, it is reportedly used as a date rape drug.  An overdose of ketamine can stop the heart.

I've been hearing a lot of stories in the news about how smoking 'water pipes' is becoming more popular across college campuses in the U.S.  One report said that smoking hooka isn't as harmless as people think it is.  Also the amount of smoke inhaled is more than 100x the smoke inhaled from a single cigarette.  At one college campus in Virginia, about 40% of students reported smoking hooka in the last year.
I still don't believe smoking hooka is very bad for you.  Of course it's more smoke than a cigarette, but people don't smoke hooka everyday in the U.S.  The amount of tobacco doesn't compare to the amount in cigarettes, and even though there may still be poisons like carbon monoxide, it still isn't enough to cause any serious harm.

That's really sad, but at least they're still not going to be around drugs, this might create some good changes for them.  I heard a story on the radio a few days ago, a kid brought weed to school for show and tell.  The same thing happend and the police went to their house to search for more drugs and there were marijuana plants in their backyard.  I can't remember how old this kid was, but he couldn't have been that old.  It's sad that these parents can't get help when they have innocent kids to take care of.

You're right, this is an extremely sad situation, it's best to not engage with people who are that spun.  They're not right and it's impossible for them to see your way.  It's no excuse to kill someone, but when you're up for more than 7-8 days, only relying on drugs to keep you from coming down, things get tragic for everyone involved.

I don't really feel the desire to move out on my own yet.  Where I live right now is the perfect location, it's right in the middle of work and school.  I think I'll wait to move out for at least a couple years.

- Déjà vu is French for "already seen." Déjà vu is an uncanny feeling or illusion of having already seen or experienced something that is being experienced for the first time. If we assume that the experience is actually of a remembered event, then déjà vu probably occurs  because an original experience was neither fully attended to nor elaborately encoded in memory. If so, then it would seem most likely that the present situation triggers the recollection of a fragment  from one's past. The experience may seem uncanny if the memory is so fragmented that no strong connections can be made between the fragment and other memories.

- Thus, the feeling that one has been there before is often due to the fact that one has been there before. One has simply forgotten most of the original experience because one was not paying close attention the first time. The original experience may even have occurred only seconds or minutes earlier.

- On the other hand, the déjà vu experience may be due to having seen pictures or heard vivid stories many years earlier. The experience may be part of the dim recollections of childhood.

- "However, it is possible that the déjà vu feeling is triggered by a neurochemical action in the brain that is not connected to any actual experience in the past. One feels strange and identifies the feeling with a memory, even though the experience is completely new."
I agree with the last explanation... it's such a strong feeling and of course we notice it, but it may just be a very strong sensation connecting to that experience.

Things usually change dramatically once you make a decision like giving up alcohol.  Have any of you lost friends because of your decision to give up alcohol?  Many people that you considered close can suddenly disappear.

It's important to show your gratitude and be thankful for your sobriety.  It also shows others that drug rehab really does work.

One of my best friends went crazy with her Macy's credit card.  She
works there and it's so tempting to her.  Basically her whole paycheck
goes back to Macy's it's so dumb.  I think your friend should just live
frugal, only buy essentials for the summer and save up for a small
chick car that's good on gas.

Well I find it hard to sit in church and not feel convicted too.  However I think you are a very good Christian if you do feel convicted.  If you sit in church and hear no voice, it means that you're not close to God.  There are some christians who ignore his word, ignore his signs, his opportunities and live in sin.  Sooner or later they become numb and do not feel the Holy spirit anymore.  That's such shame.
Last week I was in church and had a similar feeling.  Our pastor was taliking about how we should be bushes.  I'm sure you heard about the story of Moses in the Bible and the burning bush.  He was walking in the desert and saw a burning bush that was not being consumed.  It caught his eye and he heard the words of God when he approached it.  The bush ended up changing his life and Moses went on to be a great man and had a very close relationship with God.  He went from being a murderer to a christian and went to heaven to be with our savior.  This story inspired me because it gave me motivation.  We should be like bushes because we won't be consumed by the sin around us, we will remain strong and when people look at us, they will see/hear God.
There will always be hypocrits but we are to hate the sin and not the sinner.  I think you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. Maybe God is trying to lay something on your heart.  He doesn't need to use all of us for his works, but he desires us to.  And you're right, he doesn't want us to remain baby Christians forever.  I think you should pray about how you're feeling and ask God to give you strength.  Before you pray, ask for forgiveness.  Think about something you can do in your church, maybe a leadership position, anyway you think you can do work for God.
Regarding your friend, maybe you should mention something to her or pray about her.  It seems like she is struggling.  Maybe mention something like you seem so different now. If God is working in your heart about her, then he's working in her heart too, you may be the person he needs to help her.  God has a plan for everyone, people don't always stay on that path but he always has a way to get us back on his plan.  Remember that God loves every hair on your head more than we can ever imagine :)
Sex and the City Dangerous for Girls?

I heard a story recently on ABC news about a 13-yea-old girl who got hooked on the show Sex and the City and started normalizing the behavior on the show in her life.  Now she is married and has kids but made a lot of mistakes that she justified in her mind with the show.  Carey smoked cigarettes and so she did, Miranda thought hooking up with strangers was no big deal, and so did she.  Eventually the girl was cheating on her boyfriend 7 days a week.
Her story made a dramatic example of the influence of television, but many believe the show changed the way women viewed hooking up.  The show features nudity, conversations about men, vibrators, everything basically.... which is all in good sense for adults, but what about impressionable teens?  With teenagers and young adults there's a certain degree of role modeling that goes on.  I'm not sure if I'd let my 13 year old daughter watch this show, but you can't blame behavior on television.  I can't understand how this girl was given the opportunityt hook up with 7 different guys a week.  But Sex and the City isn't the only promiscuous show on tv.
