Wow you have an interesting story don't you?  I can tell you've been through a lot of treatment also, those are the things that keep me going.  I'm glad that you were still able to find yourself even after everything you've been through.
Footsteps in the Sand...

Footsteps In The Sand

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand:
one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him
he looked back, at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it:
"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:
"My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you,
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

This story has helped out so many people through times of trial.  I hope it can help many more and especially those suffering from addiction.

If you really think about it, there are lots of things that you can save for, especially when you need motivation to stay away from the mall.  If you're single, you can save money for a vacation, a birthday party, college-- books, tuition, an engagement ring maybe.  Or if you're married with kids, there's always things to save for-- cars, school fees, weddings, graduate school, cell phone bills.  I know a lot of people that live pay check to pay check when they're making over $100,000 a year because they don't know how to budget and really think about the things they truly need.

I think we're really starting to realize that addiction doesn't discriminate against any race or age.  This article actually scares me a lot because my dad is turning 50 very soon and is still an alcoholic.  I'm wondering how long he will maintain his lifestyle or if he will ever sober up.
