That makes sense, everyone has a reason they continue to be addicted, even though it may be something purely chemicals.  I would sit and wonder why my dad is still an alcoholic, even though he lost his wife and kids, he lives by himself now and still can't quit.  I don't even think he knows why he's still an alcoholic.

What is the right thing to do when someone threatens to kill themselves?  I have a friend who has this girlfriend that absolutely drives him crazy, he'll do things that piss her off and she degrades him and can't seem to let things go.  He'll call me so pissed and yelling about how they can't quit fighting and says he just wants to die cus he's so in love with her.  When it gets to this point, what do you say to someone that always says they're going to kill themselves when they're enraged?

My girlfriend will sit there and pick at her teeth with a straw!  I'm like hey, I wasn't done with my drink!

If you do a little research, World of Warcraft has caused thousands of divorces.  People just give up on life, they stop caring about their wives, their kids, their jobs, their bills... everything!  I was reading a blog about people who'd left comments about their experiences with WOW and one lady was forced to mow the lawn at 9 months pregnant because her husband refused to do anything but play WOW all day long. It's so bad right?  I'll try to find the article...

I can't believe she actually spent that much money and she lost her parents house?!  Well yes, it's her fault that she spent that much money but I sort of feel sorry for her.  It seems like she absolutely lost control of herself, like she couldn't stop.  Now that she's right-minded she's blaming the casinos and not herself.  She may have a small chance of winning tho, she is a lawyer afterall.

She's his first love, they've been together almost 3 years.  He has problems with drugs and weed and can't seem to stop I guess.

My mom is getting very close to monopause and she's a trip and a half!
Around the world!  One minute she's soo happy and then the next, she's
depressed about something that happend 10 years ago!  But she's been
visiting her doctor and this week she's gotten a lot better. But with all the stories that have been in the news about people and their medication, I'd be sure to get checked out as soon as possible too.

This is an amazing story for sure!  I used to always dread if my wife and I would wind up living a similar lifestyle.  I cannot imagine hiding a habit like that from my kids especially.  But you're a great example to me.  When we finally decided not to bring drugs or alcohol into our relationship, it was like this whole weight got lifted off my shoulders.

I thought my girlfriend was going to dump my ass when I told her I was addicted to cocaine.  I told her everything, even about every single time I'd done it behind her back.  I was soo sorry and on my knees begging for her not to leave me, but she didn't.  She just listened and was a little mad but she understood.  It was the best thing that I could've done and she's helped me tremendously.

It's not really up to the tobacco companies though.  I mean, what I'm trying to say is that would never happen...  I think it's up to consumers to know all about what they're purchasing.  And whats up with the 'herbal' cigarettes lol that doesn't sound so good to me.

That's so true, if we fight and argue about minor things, we're only wasting precious time that we can't get back.  Love really is such a powerful feeling, if brings two people together and is the glue that holds a family together.

We should never leave the person we love for somebody we like.
Eventually that person we like will leave us for a person they love.
Nowadays people think that it's okay to have an affair just because
they are physically attracted to someone.  I read a story about a man
who wasn't sure what to do because he had an affair with a woman and
she remained in her committed relationship, even though he left his
family for her.  You never know the chances you're taking until you end
up stuck.  I bet he regrets falling for this woman because his lustful
nature got him nowhere, and she ended up not caring for him at all.

When you're in a marriage, people only get divorced when they make it an option.  Most of the time when people finally call it a quits, it's because of expectations not being met.  I was always taught that in a marriage, everything is the man's fault.  If the family is late, it's the man's fault because he didn't take charge and get everyone out the door, if the bills aren't paid because his wife isn't going to work, it's the man's fault because it's his house and he should take responsibility for everything that goes on.
Marriage has become a joke to some people.  We hear of open marriages and abusive relationships, but just because it's more common, it doesn't mean it's okay and what was wrong 50 years ago still isn't right today.  When you get married, you're choosing that person to share your life with and eventually to grow old and die with.  People should think of their spouse as their best friend, you wouldn't want to let your best friend down, and you want the absolute best for them because you love and care about them that much.  When you do decided to get married, you're priorities are supposed to change, and for some people they never really transition.

But typically it's more than one person smoking a hookah, at least 2-5 so that's still not very much nicotine.  It's like sharing a cigarette once a week with 5 of your friends.  That's really not that much.  For a lot of people, this is their culture and hookah has been around for years and years.  There's not any proven evidence that hookah is as harmful as cigarette addiction.  Cigarette smokers average a lot more than one cigarette a day.

It sounds like all of the media reporting on this is saying that his addiction is because of his 30 year old rocker girlfriend.  It seems like it's so easy to blame your addictions on your spouse/partner when it's really your choice how many drugs you want to take.  They're saying she embraced the rocker lifestyle with a vengence, but considering Steven Tyler is now 60 years old, how can he expect to party this hard and not be there for his family, and act like he's still 25 years old.  I think it's kind of sad because he had grandchildren and his daughter, Liv Tyler is getting a divorce.  Hopefully he can get out on his feet for his family and fans.

Lol interesting, but helpful.... I had to really think about number two.  It seems like certian women can drink a lot, even more than men in some cases, but in general women will always get more drunk than men even when drinking equal amounts.

Sex has become so common now, it's in the media, and yah, even whore houses are featured in movies... the whole idea might not seem as harmful for someone who is in a desperate situation.  But it's only common sense that random sex acts with strangers aren't going to make your problems go away.

She's also been linked to doing drugs like cocaine, and yah remains addicted to cigarettes.  Part of her image is grungy, druggy, emaciated sometimes.  She's not a model like tyra banks who is generally healthy and high spirited.  I get what she's saying about part of who she is, but how she models and appears in print ads and magezines doesn't necessarily have to play into her life 100 percent.

Haha ya I always heard that too from my mom.  I don't know why that would be true... but still I never drank it just in case.  I'm more of a chocolate milk drinker. :)

Middle school aged kids can be so mean, it's ridiculous.  I know a lot of people who've just kind of fallen out of social groups and school because of how much they were teased.  One of my friends in seventh grade was really pretty and all of the girls were jealous of her so they teased her and would talk bad about her.  She was an awesome person, really nice but she let the teasing get to her and she ended up in an abusive relationship and chose to be homeschooled.
But I think social anxiety can be cured.  With exposure and good/healthy relationships, people can learn to trust the world and be themselves without being scared of what people will think of them.  I use to be pretty shy during the first few years of high school, but after I started working at a restaurant, I was forced to interact with all kinds of people and I learned that most people are nice and fun to be around.  A good tool for meeting new people is to find something that you have in common with them and work from there.  You can find out a lot about a person within a few minutes in meeting them. And have confidence with the way you carry yourself and how you speak.  You can make a really good impression this way. :)
