Try all three. If 95% of teens have actually smoked weed, there would be a huge amount of inquiries going on, as well as countless arrests and interrogations. Like they say, 70% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

There are also 3 kinds of lies; lies, damn lies, and statistics.

Like I've said before, if it can be legalized, it can be taxed, and if it's taxed, then there is more money in the public coffers. Marijuana is just as bad as cigarettes and alcohol, and we already have those available in our local stores, and both are taxed.

Like Fief said, if it's legalized, then it will put some drug dealers out of business because it can be legally purchased. Fewer drug dealers results in a small dent in crime. If you don't like marijuana, don't smoke it, it's not your business if someone does something that's perfectly legal. If you have a problem, tell them to smoke outside, if you're in their house and they have a joint, then leave.

Ahem, I take prescription painkillers because I'm highly allergic to aspirin, and I have a stomach ulcer as well, which get exacerbated by aspirin. And guess what, they're my dads.

Just because you take prescription drugs without a prescription doesn't meant that you're an addict.

Encouraging them to launch fireworks in probably dangerous ways and jumping off roofs, that I can understand. But isn't St. Paddys day one of those days that are celebrated with a drink like at New Years?

Although I'm quite liberal about drinking, I'm 18 and I've been drinking fairly often for a few years, I wouldn't give alcohol to a 12y/o outside of things like New Years. And no I'm not an alkie, I'm lucky to go through a bottle of wine in a fortnight,

Total abstinence would probably result in a serious issue of blue balls as it's called. But I'm certain that any addiction that doesn't have dangerous withdrawal symptoms can be overcome by going cold turkey.

I'm not sure if you could get addicted, I guess it's probably just a preference thing. I doubt you could wind up addicted to fellatio, but that would be a pretty funny thing to imagine.

The prospect of earning money will keep anyone going at just about any cost. I know this, I've had a few online businesses myself and all have been either upstaged or completely failed. So yeah, I'll stick with working for online businesses.

I'm not a psychologist, but if she goes from being happy to being sad all of a sudden, she might be bi-polar. I wouldn't really consider it odd behavior though, sulking I mean, some people are just like that, but it's also a sign of depression.

As for treating people like crap, and denying it, or genuinely not remembering it, it might be Munchensens Syndrome by Proxy, a mental illness in which people bring harm to others to direct attention towards themselves.

It's not up to you to define someone as mentally ill, that's up to a psychologist. If she's really mean to people in your house, then kick her out the door and tell her not to come back until she's seen a shrink. Because nobody deserves to be treated like crap for no reason.

Other than slowly weaning yourself off the drug, not really. She'll have to see a doctor, so she can get medicine to cancel out the withdrawal symptoms of whatever it is she does. Mind if I ask what it is she was on? It's not as though anyone knows who you are here.

Most likely, 70 hours a week is a lot. 3 hours is hardly excessive, even if you were addicted, you've gotten over it now. I hardly ever watch TV these days, even if I do, it's just Law and Order. Only thing worth watching on TV these days.

I'm beginning to guess that you were able to get the PhD in psychology then Aries? You've become profoundly knowledgeable when it comes to psychology these days.

And I agree with that, were just more aware of it, but I think it's also overzealous doctors who just brand the kid autistic just to get an annoying brat out of his office.

Penchant for paranoia and feels like she's being persecuted? Sounds like schizophrenia if she is paranoid about the silliest things, like if so-and-such is poisoning the water and all that.

Makes me wonder why those ads haven't been pulled because of that. Yeah, it's the truth, especially if we only see it subliminally, a lot of signs have some nasty effects.

This thread just reminded me of a two signs I once saw, one said "Jesus Christ Died for our Sins.", but with the way that another sign was placed, it said "Jesus Christ died for our Dunkin' Donuts"

If you only visit for a short while, then I guess they can abstain from smoking for a a short while or smoke outside. If they can respect that you're trying to give it up, then they'll probably quit for a wee bit.

Or you could bring an inhaler and claim that you have a few respiratory issues, that should stop them in their tracks.

Even though smoking is legal, and also protected by the first amendment, you do not have a direct right to smoke, which is why anti-smoking laws don't get shot down by the supreme court. Also, him opening that forum is also protected by the first, as is your right to say that smoking is a filthy and disgusting habit.

My only stance is, respect my right to clean air and I'll respect your right to smoke. Don't respect my clean air, I wont respect your right to life and limb.

Nobody wants to date someone who stinks of nicotine

One thing that a few smokers seem to be unaware of is how bad their breath is. Now, I'll say right now, I'm not better due to an infected throat (not related to smoking by the by), but I don't want to make out with someone and play "Guess how many a day".

Their hands also stink as well, and the walls of their house get yellowed by excessive smoking. Take a picture off the wall and you'll see if they smoke or not.

How in the Hell did he wind up killing himself? He must've had some latent depression that all came out in one fell swoop. Like that guy said, it can exacerbate underlying illness, but I doubt that it can take it that far.

This is worth a read, and just strengthens the debate over whenever it can be legalized or not. I don't care either way, but it's being proven time and time again that it's not as harmful as people make it out to be. And like I've said a million times before, it would really help if it was legalized.

It's a fact that a lot of drugs that are sold, especially those in powder form, are packed with more filler than a cheap hotdog. Snorting flour, salt, god-knows-what else and everything that goes with it, probably does more harm than the drug itself. In a pure form, and taken in moderation, it wont cause any nasty side effects.

But what moderation means varies wildly, a single ecstasy pill can instantly kill someone if they have a bad reaction to it, but countless legions of people smoke marijuana and are alive and well.

Then I don't really know, did people get upset with her a lot in the past? That can really linger with people for years. As for being childish, some people are just like that by nature. Unless it's childish as in throwing a tantrum when she doesn't get her way.

Jägermeister is a pretty nasty drink if you can't handle large amounts of alcohol. One shot and BAM, you're down for the count. I hardly touch it it's so strong, it tastes pretty good but it's just too potent for my tastes. I'll stick with my wine thankyouverymuch.

Agreed, even though they do put their lives at risk, and being a firefighter is a very stressful, difficult and dangerous job, it's a job that will have people looking up to you. They're real heroes, but one thing they need to be is focused, and you can't focus if you're high.

You can't fit the whole truth into one sentence, got a link to the article/findings/whatever?

I don't see how it can result in susceptibility to addiction, out of ALL the things that a malnutritioned pre-natal child can have, they pick addiction?
