14 MILLION are addicted to alcohol, that's so much!  I've been around alcoholics my entire life and it's caused a lot of misery in my family.  If there's 14 million people that are addicted to alcohol, then there's at least 28 million people affected by alcohol addiction.  It's so sad how someone can just give up on life just to be drunk, their entire lives are centered around alcohol, not their kids, or their spouses, or jobs, but alcohol!

I think he needs a family intervention to pull him together and remind him why he is trying to get sober.  Let him know how much his family cares for him and how great of a person he is when he's not drinking.

Astrology.com is what works for me.  Sometimes I'll start dating someone and I'll plug my sign with hers and it tells me a lot about how our potential relationship could work.  It also helps me appreciate my attributes and things that make me, me.  I think it's so important to embrace the things things that are important to you, especially if you're recovering from an addiction.  You need to love yourself to stay away from drugs.

Yeah, I don't really get the whole you tube craze either.  Some videos are funny, but they're mostly just boring videos of bored people doing stupid stuff.  But sometimes it comes in handy, if I'm trying to find a music video, it's right there, with every version you can imagine lol.

It's all about staying consistent.  I keep my running shoes right by my door so I can just put them on and go!  But I know how you feel, the only time in my life where I consistently worked out was during PE where if I didn't work out, I'd get an F on my transcripts LOL. But even after convincing myself to throw on some shoes and go to the gym, I still don't want to.  Just try to think of all the benefits of working out, you'll have better skin, a better body, you'll look better when you're older, you'll have more energy during the day, and you can say, yah I exercise all the time and not have to sound lazy!

I think the hardest part for most people is realizing that they have a problem.  Some people just party party party, drink drink drink, and don't ever realize that they have an addiction, until they get arrested and lose their license, or they did a really stupid thing while drinking.  So, I think the first step is the hardest part.
Marijuana Withdrawal Symptoms

In a study of 500 marijuana smokers who tried to kick the habit, about one-third resumed to relieve or avoid withdrawal symptoms such as irritabililty and anxiety.  None of the participants suffered from psychiatric disorders.  About one in four reported smoking pot more than 10,000 times in their lives, the equivelant of daily use for 27 years.  More than half smoked more than 2,000 times.  A total of 42.4 percent experienced at least one withdrawal symptom- most commonly, cravings, irritability, boredom, anxiety, and sleep disturbances- when they tried to quit.
Heavy pot users should be aware that they may experience a withdrawal symptom that will make them uncomfortable when they quit.  I realized this is true for many users, which is why it's good to just quit once and for all your first time.  One of my friends has been smoking pot for 2 years and recently quit.  We got in this huge fight over absolutely nothing.  I've noticed how irritable he's been, but lately he's gotten a lot better.  He's going back to his old self. :)

Wow that's pretty extreme.  She could be hurting other people too, who knows she didn't give someone health problems for the rest of their lives?  I'm glad she stopped doing this though, I'm sure her insurance company would've caught on eventually.

People like this come off as negative and who wants to be around a negative person!?  I'd say something to  your friend like why are you always so offended, I'd never say anything to hurt your feelings so stop taking things the wrong way.  And yeah, point it out when she does it, but not in a bad way, just as a friend.  Good luck :P

It's sad when your parents live in the same town/house and you hardly ever see them.  But my family is very understanding, they like to see me busy.  But I always make sure to never miss a dinner, birthday, get together, and even when I see my dad/mom/brother I make sure to tell them I love them.

Actually I think that was President Clinton.  First he said he touched the joint to his lips but didn't inhale it, then he said yes, I smoked marijuana.  I'm not sure if President Bush has though??

My sister reads these magezines, cosmogirls and Cosmopoletin and I flipped throught them sometimes and they are really sexy.  Event he Cosmo girl teaches love tricks, but the cosmopoletin actually spells out specific sex acts and what are the best positions blabla.  She buys them for herself and I'm wondering if she's messing around with her boyfriend now.  Teens are having sex younger and younger now, and these magezines aren't helping!

Teens who use marijuana, which are a good portion of the population, are three times more likely than nonsmokers to have suicidal thoughts.  Too many teens are making a bad situation worse by smoking marijuana.  Many teens call it self medicating, when their chances of becoming addicted are already high.

It was funny, that movie Harold and Kumar 2 makes fun of Pres. Bush smoking marijuana, he's puffing on that Alabama Kush LOl.  I agree though, I bet it won't come out, that's just low if people feed into that.  She's human, look at how far she's come!

How embarrasssiing!  If I were those kids parents that he stole from I'd be mad.  It's so easy to set all of your reasoning behind you just to feed your addiction, hopefully this will teach him a lesson.

That's good he grew out of it.  It doesn't sound like he was a hard core addict, maybe a little obsessed.  But skipping meals and school is crazy, just for video games!  I'd rather now miss out on life, you never get that time back, it's best to live every day to the fullest.

I'm not sure if I would want my son/daughter to be prescribed anti-depressants.  If it were a last resort and we had already tried counseling and therapy to treat their depression, I'd still be very cautious.  Because there's always a risk of dependency when they're older.
