RE: Do men talk about it

I think that this is a complicated question. It depends on so many things like the person, the addiction, the person you are telling and your experiences. If someone doesn't have that bad of an addiction it might be easier to come forward with, but the reverse can be the same as well. I however, like talking about things I have experienced, hoping to help other people.

So have you had any alcohol since then? I hope you can stick with it. Quitting something at times can be very difficult and I know for me, it's easy to go to my old ways when I get stressed out in life. I know I shouldn't turn to drug, but for some reason it just makes me feel so much better.

I used to smoke 10-15 ciggs a day, now I'm more of a social smoker. It was costing a lot and me and my girl agreed that if I stopped she would so now we just do it every once in a while. She smoked prime times though not ciggs and those were pretty expensive so now we are saving more a month.

Man Steve-O was pretty crazy in Jackass! I never thought about him having a problem with drugs, but I guess it kinda makes sense. I also heard that his mom made up an excuse to stay home and drink so she said she had cancer or something crazy like that. I never thought about any addiction I had until my girlfriend got pregnant. It changed our whole world so we stopped smoking and drinking because I would never want my baby girl to go through what her mom and I have.

im not saying that you are doing this, but i know my parents always sat around and just wondered what i was doing and being worried without ever asking me straight up. im not sure i would have been honest with them at the time and especially you said your daughter is a teenager trying to fit in. there are always commercials saying to talk to your kids about issues like these so they do know right from wrong and what is acceptable in your household. if her boyfriend is drunk dialing you im not sure if thats the kind of person you want your daughter hanging around. it is normal these days for teens to experiment with alcohol and drugs and sometimes i think its better to try it and figure out you dont like it, but that isnt the case for everyone. so out of all this i would suggest just talking more to her and finding out what shes doing.

a purple heart is a great accomplishment, you should be very proud of him. i think realistically no matter what war people fought most would probably experience this. but  you are right that the terms werent around back then. i dont think civilians really know or can imagine what soldiers go through when they go off to war. they experience so much and have seen so much by the time that they get back.

i like that it says get help for your family. although maybe only one person is using, it does affect the whole family just in different ways.

did you tell your parents that it bothers you? unfortunately there probably isnt much you can do about it. its good that you see that it is wrong and she should be eating healthier. its also good that you are encouraging to her and try to show her how to get quick exercise that can be fun. maybe since you dont see your father or sister regularly try emailing them when you read a news article about child obesity and things like that to bring to their attention. good luck.
