When my dad was a heavy drinker, he once had a seizure from his drinking.

Alcohol also screws your metabolism, because it's nothing but calories it takes forever to break down and stick it somewhere.

Pretty stupid thing to do. Also, why did nobody complain about a drunk guy being in the gym? If I saw a drunk guy hanging around where I worked, I'd have him out of there in a second, even if it was a friend of mine.

What could a person, especially a teacher be thinking showing 14 and 15 year old kids pornography right at the height puberty?! Not only showing this is inappropriate, it boarders on criminal!

Borders on? Showing pornography to a minor is criminal.

I hope this guy gets locked up for that, possessing child porn is a crime, showing porn to minors is a crime, he has guilty written all over him.

The proper name for it is Lucid Dreaming, the biggest difficulty is becoming aware that it's a dream, and then maintaining a state of sleep.

Heres a site on the subject, I'm sure it'll be of some interest. http://www.lucidity.com/

Well, seems that the update did a little something with the passwords, but I found that if you request a new password and use that to log in, you can log in with no trouble at all.

You heard me right, I'm posting ain't I?

Tch, hypocrite. Did he honestly think that he would get away with it just because he's a cop? That'll happen when pigs fly.

*see's Police Heli whizz past* Nevermind.

I live in Arkansas, which is one of those dry states, but I live 20 minutes from the state lines, so I can stop by there if I need a drink. Like you said, you can't legislate your way out of a problem, you need to actually take action to deal with it.
Few issues with this new layout

First off, people can't log in unless they get a new password, but I put up a thread about dealing with that.

Secondly, the subscribed threads page on the profile doesn't seem to work right.

Third, is there an option to disable the Subscribe? box from being checked automatically? I'd rather not have my inbox full of replies because I forgot to uncheck it.

Fourth, a small thing but peoples names show up in all lowercase on the thread listing.

Edit:
Fifth, avatars seem to screw up big time, I mean, look at mine!

Edit:
Another problem with the layout

On the topic list, instead of showing the name of the last poster, and the time, it shows this.

Yesterday

Yesterday

A bug with Edit, subsequent edits edit the part that was previously added to the page. Hence why my 5th bug report is now gone from this post.

Edit:
Scratch that last one, edits just don't show on the creation or preview page.

13? You must be joking. I heard that Japan is rather lenient on the subject of sex, but an age of consent that's 13? Geez, that's crazy.
Also, ephebophilia? That's a new one, lemme guess, sexual attraction to adolescents?

Doesn't anyone read things on paper these days? Why anyone would want to spend that much on a TV is just beyond my grasp, if anything, what they gain in quality they lose in functionality. Modern TVs have 5 buttons. Power, volume up, volume down, channel up, channel down. Lose the remote, that TV is FUBAR.

They know nothing of autism, is that guys PhD. in child psychology? Or satirical news? Either way, it's a lot of crap, if TVs caused autism, everyone in the US would barely be able to care for themselves and the odds of a child being autistic would be MUCH higher than .6%

@ Quenlin; that's probably happened on more than one occasion. Considering how many old people are at a risk of heart attack and stroke, and how many inconsiderate bosses make people work 172 hours a week despite having kids, I wouldn't be surprised if I saw it in the news tomorrow.

Perhaps the stigma attached to Anorexia is why they deny it. I mean, nobody would publicly admit to being a pedophile, and if asked, they would deny it, does that mean that anyone who denies it is a pedophile?

It just brings up catch-22's, I heard in one court case that a woman who was accused of having Munchenses Syndrome by Proxy had the fact that she denied having it turned around against her.
RE: How much did/do you smoke per day?

I used to smoke 5-10 a day for a while, but I got sick of wasting my money on it so I went on patches and eventually kicked the habit. Everyone says it's tough to quit, but I guess 5-10 cigs a day is a lot easier than 20/day.
Ever wonder how much you spend a year on cigarettes?
2/27/2008 6:49:02 PM Dartz
99 Posts Dartz's Avatar
Here's how to figure it out, if you smoke 5/day, do 91 x the price of a packet of cigs.

10 a day? 182 x the price of a pack.

20? 365 x the price of a pack.

If a pack costs $5, then that's $455/year, assuming you buy a 20 pack when you run out, $910/year for 10 a day, and a whopping $1825/year for a 20 a day habit. That's just a $5 pack, I'm sure cigs are a lot more expensive than that these days. Even a penny adds another $3.65 to a 20/day habit.

If they're not as fun, then suck it up and go to an arcade and play a few of the games there.

I agree with you that gambling and gaming addiction is different all together but gaming addiction ruins the child life in the sense that he/she do not give attention and time on their studies and consequently they lack behind in their academic life.

I clock an average of 5-6 hours of gaming a day, maybe more on my days off, and I actually have a plum job as a manager at a popular local restraunt. Pays damn well, and I keep everything in line. I also have a good education with good marks in all classes except Technical and Music, always finished my books before everyone else. Most of the kids in my school were like that, and a lot of them were gamers. I could spot the people who pulled all-nighters when San Andreas was released. ^_^

Taking a statistic as gospel will screw up someones life more than videogames. I'm sure I would offend a lot of people by saying that 1 in 3 people will contract cancer, so out of the 5 posters in this topic, 2 of them will probably die from cancer. Besides, 67% of all statistics are made up on the spot, this one included. If you throw out one of those statistics as fact, you'll probably offend someone and they'll want to kick you up and down the street for it, taking it as an insult.

Sounds more like a mental issue or a complex rather than an addiction, I know what it is but I can't put my finger on the name. Though, could just be someone trying to be really nice and end up doing more harm than good. Sad isn't it?

The word is abstinence, not even condoms are 100% effective. And AIDS can be spread through any bodily fluid, not just ejaculate. Abstinence and having as few sexual partners as possible slashes the odds of getting AIDS into mere fractions of a %.

Remember, you sleep with someone, you sleep with everyone they ever slept with.

You need to be 18 to buy pornography, there are no laws governing possession of pornography involving consenting adults. Although, these kids would probably get the site wiped on the grounds of "Welfare".

I don't trust Ebay, full stop. There are way too many frauds on there for my liking, it's too easy to get scammed unless you take a second look at what you're buying. Even if you fall for it, it can just be blamed on your own stupidity.

Stealing your husbands money so you can buy some new clothes, that's just sick right there. I wouldn't even lend her a quarter to buy penny candy, she'd probably buy a penny candy and half the chocolates as well.

Harm, without a doubt. It's far too easy to find what you want online, and if you have a shopping addiction, you will end up going over the limit for your credit cards. Which will really make life Hell if you can't afford the payments.

I believe I speak for a large amount of the human population that actually has a smattering of tolerance for things that differ from what they know when I say this;

Some people are gay. Get over it. It's not killing you to know.
