Maybe they shouldn't have called you an addict, but there are some people that are enablers. They make it possible for an addict to carry on their lifestyle, or are sometimes addicted to that person's dependency on them. But you seems like a very nice person, maybe you need to show some tough love. Addicts are the type of people that will use all of their resources around them, any possible way to get money to afford their drugs. I have an older brother and I only give him money, maybe once a month. And it's $5 or $10 if he's short on cash, and then he pays me back. But I can't imagine why he would need more than that, he's an adult and has a job, so there's really no reason why I should give him money. But there's other ways of showing love, besides giving money. It's good that you're being supportive by attending meeting with him, that shows a lot.

Horses not only are fun to ride, but can help teach relationship skills as well as aiding people with physical or mental disabilities. Horses can mirror the feelings people try to hide. They teach relationship skills. But therapeutic work with horses does not necessarily involve riding, it can happen during grooming, or with the horse on a long rein. Equitherapy can improve posture and well-being. You see people opening up and smiling more. Horses are very sensitive; they pick up on emotions, without being judgemental and this allows people to express themselves. People's lives can be transformed by interaction with a horse. They see how to communicate with others, and what they need to change in themselves. They learn how to say no, and set limits, but in a natural way, without a power struggle. There is intuitive communication between horses and humans, the horse brings people into the here and now. Equitherapy has been used to treat eating disorders, and even help rehabilitate prisoners. It's no accident that so many of the greatest leaders were skillful riders. Horses invigorate your spirit and help you get in touch with the real beauty and power of life.

A recent study found that more than half of teens will try illicit drugs at least once and almost all will try alcohol and tobacco. So knowing this, parents are lookin for a refresher to keep their kids off drugs. The sooner you talk about it, the better. When they hear about the dangers of drug use, they start to understand. By the age of ten, parents need to have a serious sit-down conversation with their kids about drug use, abuse, and the dangers therein. Also, getting your teen involved in activities like martial arts will help deter drug use. The warning signs are still the same: blood shot eyes, drop in grades at school, aggressive or laid back behavior, and a laid-back view on drug use.

A doctor working near the Gaza Strip has developed a new detoxification program, that has cured more than 11,000 former opiate addicts. It's said to be one of the world's most radical drug clinic, but regarding drug addiction, radical techniques may actually be the best. Dr. Andre Waismann hopes that one day, any opiate addict can come in and get cured of their drug addiction, and go home healthy that very evening.
Basically, what his treatment consists of is, the patient is sedated while their body is detoxified. Usually this process is extremely painful and they experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, and fever, even extreme muscle aches. All of these symptoms are bypassed and the patient awakes with no cravings, having gone through detoxification. For the next ten months to a year, they take regular pills to counteract the effects of any heroin or opiate they may take, and according to Waismann, become fully functioning members of society again.
