I dont like being a thief I was not a thief as a kid but now I have to rob stores to pay for my drugs. I hate doing it although I reckon the big corporations can afford it as they are insured to the max. It make me feel really scummy but its the only way I can pay for my addiction

Well Shopping addiction is a serious problem just like drugs or alcohol. Well everyone know about Winona Ryder's shoplifting arrest because of her addiction. It is very sad one.

Wow! I dated a guy who stole from me and let me tell you how much it hurt. I lost my childhood pictures, I no longer have my school pictures from when I was a kid, pictures with my parents or my siblings, etc. They are all gone. The rest of the things were material; digital camera, cds, cell phone, etc. And then he even used my check book to purchase items. It's been 5 years and I haven't been able to date since, I have major trust issues and push people away.

What you are doing, to an individual or a large corporation is not right. You have an addiction to drugs that needs to be dealt with. If you keep doing this eventually you'll get caught and end up in jail. Don't know how old you are, but you need to ask someone for help in treating your addiction. I hope you are able to get help, because while my ex is no longer a part of my life, I do know that he is in and out of jail every couple months. He gets picked up for stealing or drugs and just repeats the cycle.

Best of luck!

Sorry but theft is wrong no matter who you steal from. I realise that you have a drug problem but you need to be seeking help for it, rather than making excuses about the knock on effect that your drug habit is having.

I hope that you get the help that you need.

Shopplifting is not a victimless crime either, so don't try and salve your conscience with that excuse. Shoplifting just puts the prices up for everyone else. You need to get help and stop making excuses.

Shop lifting to buy / cure drugs? Doesn't really sound right to me, if your trying to cure your addiction / need help why don't you got to your doctor and ask for advise and such?

Does anyone know about your addiction? Like a family member or something? Try to get some help. If your shoplifting to pay for your drug addiction then thats a really really bad sign and your in for some uncomprehensible trouble! Get help as soon and possible and stop shoplifting!! you know its a scummy thing to do but your trying to come up with excuses for your self like they're massively insured. You know it doesn't matter and its not the right thing to do. You should stop and do anything to stop!

I agree with mrsrodriguez. I think it's important to not justify your actions by saying they have insurance although I do the same thing, but in different situations. I think when we make ourselves believe that something is okay and isn't hurting anyone is when we really need to get some help because most likely it is hurting someone and more so yourself. I would try talking to a counselor and they can help you further.

I agree with confession, you should see a councelor. Imagine how much trouble you'd be in if you got caught also!
