Men have it hard to

Any person who thinks that women are the only ones that have it hard when dealing with drug use is wrong. I personally know of a couple of people that no matter how much they have tried or had support they just cannot stay away from the stuff and do not care who they hurt.

I often think that it is harder for men to recover from drug addictions and they have to work harder to make recovery happen to begin with. Men are strong willed people who have a hard time admitting when something is wrong, as they tend to take it more lightly.

But you men out there can do it. Be the man you know you are and get the help you need.It is ok to admit you need help.

You are right, they do and sometimes it is harder for them to come to grips with it. I have often thought that will the pressures of men having to take care of families that it is very easy to fall into addictions. I would like to hear from men on this topic. Has anyone ever experienced addiction due to the stresses of taking care of and supporting your family.

That is nice coming from two women, but as a man I would like to hear some others men's opinion on this topic. I will post my thoughts right now.

Neither men nor women have it harder. It appears as though they might only because of the type of people you are looking at. Each one of us who many or may not have an addiction is different. We respond different, act differently and think differently.

I think its just as hard for men as it is for women. I dont think its any harder for men than women and vice versa. They both have to go through the withdrawals and both have to go through cravings and recovery and all the same steps. However I do think that if the woman was a mother it would make it harder on her because she could lose her kids.

I do agree with this. Men dont usually get their children taken away from them because the children are usually with the mother. But they do have to go thorugh the sme steps and suffer just as much, and i belive that men and women both have the same ability to get addicted and to get sober.
