I think breaking down the categories more would be a great idea. Including Food catagories, and others like for Body addictions places tatoos where they need to be.

A tatoo section would be very good to have on the forum, I know lots of people (including my partner) who feel the need to cover themselves

I dont think that tattoos are a bad habbit , its just a style anyone can use it but in limit !

And of good quality too as the low quality tattoos are very harmful for the skin !

Is calling a person who see’s their body as a canvas for body modification an addict the same as calling an artist who paints flowers every day on paper an addict?

Hmm that's an odd way of looking at it. I think a person like that is fueling their need to create and design, but a tattoo addict would be someone that uncontrollably needs to tatoo their bodies to feel content. I don't think I could ever get one because half of me wants one really bad but then there's still some doubt, so I probably shouldn't. Tattoo's are definitly fun though. Getting a tattoo when you're drunk isn't a good idea though, my friend Rhiana just got a tattoo of Chubabacca on her rear! :D

In a way I agree that breaking down the categories of addiction even further sounds like a good idea. The only problem is that the number of things and behaviors people become addicted are infinite. I think it would be impossible to list each addiction. Maybe it would be more helpful to have a subforum dedicated to addiction in general and addictive behavior, risk factors, etc. specifically.

Jamiesky, millions of women around the world feel the need to put makeup on everyday to feel content, does that mean they are addicts as well? I don’t see tattoos as an addiction, but I can see where other people are coming from on this. I can’t figure out if there is a fine line between an addiction and a ‘hobby’ so to speak or if it’s a huge grey area? I’m all confused now!

There is a section on here for free topics or something where you can write about any addiction. There are too many to make a section for each one :)

I think it's kind of ridiculous to feel that you can't leave the house without being fully done up.  That's the person you really are, and you shouldn't be afraid to hide it.  I don't feel that's an addiction, more of a self conscious, self-esteem issue.  If someone is unable to feel happy without getting a new tattoo, then there's a problem, it may not be as severe as an addiciton, but maybe it should be considered more of an obsession.

Yeah, I'm not sure if tattoos are an addiction or a way of expressing yourself. I've heard though that once you get one, it's hard to not get another one. There is a free topic area though.

I think drunk tattoos are the worst to get! I have a friend who gt drunk and thought it would be hilarious if he got a tattoo of a potato on his arm. He got it and its the most retartedest thing ever! But I can see why tattoos can be an addiciton, even peircings. I got my belly button pierced and right after wards I reeeeeaaaally wanted to get my tongue peirced too. I'm so glad I didn't!

LOL a potato!? That's hilarious, but I can see how he might regret it.  My sister and her best friend decided one day that they wanted to get matching tattoos!  And they couldn't decide what to get, so they just went and decided to get stick figures of each other with their names. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen!
