I have recently started on HRT and my moods have gone pretty erratic and its affecting my relationship, I know its not an addiction per se, but I was wondering if any one else has had issues?

HRT's are supposed to help reduce moodswings, not increase them. Have you talked to your doctor about it? Has it helped with the other issues or worsened them? How severe were they before you started taking them?

I don't mean to sound ignorant, but what exactly is HRT, and what does it help ? I sometimes have erractic mood swings as well, and I have wondered if I should seek help about it or if they are just normal, because they usually only happen when I don't get enough sleep.

Hormone replacement therapy. There are a lot of hormone-related issues after a woman goes through monopause, and hormone therapy is used to offset the worse of the symptoms.

My mom is getting very close to monopause and she's a trip and a half!
Around the world!  One minute she's soo happy and then the next, she's
depressed about something that happend 10 years ago!  But she's been
visiting her doctor and this week she's gotten a lot better. But with all the stories that have been in the news about people and their medication, I'd be sure to get checked out as soon as possible too.

My mom is the same! She is in her late forty's and she's at the time too, but she REFUSES to accept it. And instead when she has her fanatical mood swings and we tell her she's hitting menopause she goes even more crazy. She's a hopeless case.
