Do you think all kinds of gambling should be prohibited?
I think it shouldn't, but there could be some social programs to help this people :)

Many cainos (not online) offer help now for people who think they might be addicted to gambling. I think this has been a movement going on with them for a while to help people, I do not think they should be obligated to babysit people who cannot control their actions.

I think that there should be some very strict limits on how much they can spend in total, and in one round at the table. And they should also be trained on how to recognize a gambling addict, and do the right thing by refusing his bet.

Same with bars, a good bartender will know when someones had too much, and when to kick them out of the bar.

Prohibition of anything, whether it's alcohol, illegal drugs, the sex trade, or gambling, is one of those things that looks good - depending on one's outlook - on paper but impossible to accomplish.  There are many reasons for this, some of them relating to economic realities, but most of them boil down to this: human nature.

1) There will always be people who do not believe in rules.

2) There will always be people who live by the motto: "If it feels good, do it."

3. There will always be people with compulsive traits, be it for gambling, sex, drugs, or alcohol.

4) You can't legislate morality.

I dont think it should. People should just learn how to control their selves. McDonalds makes people fat, should it be prohibited? Or should people learn how to take care of their bodies and limit themselves.

I agree people should just learn to limit themselves. Just because one person messes up doesn't mean he should kill it for the rest of us who dont go out of control with gambling.

I don't think so. Although there are addicts, I think the majority of people do it for fun. Aren't there illegal bets though?? Like races and games or something..??

I know for sure it's illegal to gamble and make bets on football games.  My dad told me that if he were to get caught at his work doing this, then he could get fired!

If it were prohibited it doesn't mean its going to stop going on. Just like when they prohibit many other things, all its going to do is cause more crime. just like during the prohibition when alcohol was prohibited they would have speakeasies, same thing would happen with gambling. And why should other people who only gamble occasionally have to suffer because some couldn't control themselves?
