If you put in the time to get over your addiction and start to help other people you will be a hero and people will look up to you , you will make a diffrence in this world and people will respect you , so tell us your story .

I do not think that peoples intentions are to be a hero, but more to help other people while helping themselves. it is important to know when you are working on yourself it might be difficult to think of others, especially when you are in a group setting with other addicts. Because there is a risk of just one of them tempting you back to the dark side.

In my past I have done a lot of things that I am not proud of. I have now recovered and the biggest thing helping me in my recovery was the fact I could help other people who made the same mistakes as me. And by getting my own life back on track it showed others that they really could do the same and drag themselves out the gutter aswell.

I think that as long as you make a difference in someones life in any influential way you are considered a hero.
