Any drug comes with risks and many have the chance of dependence. It depends of course which diet pills you are talking about because there are many herbal ones out there that are supposedly free of said risks.

For a person who is suffering from anorexia or bulimia, then pills often form a dangerous part of the illness. But I am not sure that many would become addicted to the pills alone, as they don't have a mood altering effect.

Diet pills can be addicting, but you have to look at the underlying problem and why you are taking the diet pills. If you are non active and taking diet pills to lose and maintain weight that is a big problem. Part of that addiction recovery is not only to stop taking the pills but to start exercising. That way you will see that you will be able to lose the weight and keep it off. exercise is one of the most unused tools for maintaining and losing weight and it is free.

First you need to determine that you have a problem which it seem like you have. You then need to set goals and as you reach each goal you need to add more in place of the ones you have reached. This will help you to keep your mind off of wanting to take the diet pills.

I know a lot of people who took diet pills and never became addicted. I dont think they're addictive, I  think people just feel better thinking theyre going to lose weight from it.

I've been addicted to diet pills in the past, well I was also taking other drugs too and drinking... but I loved the comments I would get.  I started getting noticed more at my school, and I couldn't get enough attention.  After a while, I started feeling like my heart was skipping beats a lot, it was making me scared, so I stopped taking the diet pills and smoking, and after about 3 months, my heart felt back to normal.  I couldn't believe it though, I could've gave myself some serious health issues.

I took diet pills for about two weeks. The same thing happened with my heart. It would just constantly beat so fast, and hard I could feel it. It's like you know when you get really scared of something how your heart just starts beating so hard and loud, mine was being like that. I got scared and threw them all away before you could even notice a weight change.

I dont believe in diet pills. I think they may help your metabolism but most the poeple that eat it think "Well I took that diet pill so I guess its OK if I eat an extra doughnut". And when a person does that they dont end up losing weight. Diet pills also require a work out and most the people tha take them depend on those instead of a work out. I dont see how they could be addicting tho.

I dont see how a person can get addicted to diet pills. I dont think your body becomes dependent on it after a while. I guess the only way is if a person just stays paranoid and thinks that if they stay without the pill that they'll just gain a lot of weight.
