How Do You Know When You Hit Bottom?
How Do You Know When You Hit Bottom?

This may seem an odd question, but when do you know that you've hit rock bottom? What does that mean to you, or how did it present in your case?
I know that I am in trouble, but I have known that for a long time, so that's nothing like hitting rock bottom.

Well this might sound like a cop out answer. But I think that each person hits bottom differently. So to say how do you know when you hit bottom, I can only answer when you know it is time to change or you might not be able to go on. For some people it is when a friend dies, or when they are near death themselves, for others it is when they finally come to realize they do have a problem.

Thank you for your reply. I guess I figured as much but it seems to vague and out there. I have tried many times to get myself level financially, but each time I do, I have that little bit of spare cash, I go and blow it. I enjoy spending it and don't want to stop and so I spend more-more than I have and I then spend the next three months picking up the pieces, trying to get back to a position where ends meet again.

For me I could see that I would have hit bottom after a long time. You have to decide that enough is enough, once that happens whether or not you have hit bottom you need to work to make your life better.
