What kind of gift would be appropriate for a person fighting to beat an addiction? I was thinking about a journal but wondered if that would be wierd?

I think just being there to support them would be really great. A journal may or may not be something they would use or not. It would depend on the person I would think and if they want to write down what they are going through at the moment. But it's a nice jesture.

Alot of programs suggest journaling and it might be good. Of course, just letting them know you care is the best gift there is.

Well yes i guess supporting them and being there for them is a big gesture.
Journaling is also one thing that can help. They have already done a great job if they have realized what the problem is.

I think that a journal would be a great way to get relief from stress for that person. You should get them something they would like and at the same time something they would use. Maybe with a note inside like "thought this might help when you need to let things out". This will allow them a way to communicate without feeling uncomfortable.

A journal might be a good way for them to write down all of their feelings and what they are going through at the time. It might be a good release for them and help them through recovery. It will be a nice way to show you care and that you are there for them.
