Hey,

I just thought I'd come and tell everyone where abouts I am in recovery now.
So, I'm a drunk. I've been taking classes on how to prevent myself from getting too intoxicated- It's actually going rather well. It's been going for a few months now and I don't feel the urge to drink that often.

Hey Pippy,

It's great that you're taking classes and it's great to hear you're doing well. Keep it up and keep us updated to how it progresses. Alcohol is a tough addiction to beat but it is beatable. You wanting to change is the biggest motivator. Set short term goals for yourself and take it day by day, one step at a time.

I know its hard to stop drinking because its something that almost everyone does. At least you are trying to accomplish the step of calming down and having control. Control is the main thing you want to have when it comes to drinking.

Congrats on getting help. I have to disagree though about control being important. I think it's more important to admit that we are out of control. That, when it comes to drink, drugs, or our addiction, we can not ever have control. That doesn't make us weak or bad. It is just who we are. Everyone has there own thing they can't control. This is ours.

We love you man , as long as you stay clean , don't go back there , we need you to be clean and help other people , they need you too , but first you have to be clean for us all , ok

It is really good that you're taking classes and are taking that step to recovery. It's also good that you're here sharing that information with us and maybe it will help someone else. I have been reading through the forum and there is a good group of people here.

First of all I wish you good health. We are very glad to know that you are going well in your recovery. I think thats the spirit required to tackle addiction.
