Sometimes when a person is trying to recover they are unable to be successful. This is in part due to the fact that they are not recovering from the root of the problem that caused the addiction to begin with. What would you do to help those people realize what caused the addiction to begin with. How can a person truly recover without addressing those problems.

I think you are right in saying that the root of the problem that caused the addiction to begin with needs to be addressed from the beginning or people just might end up with road block which are stopping progress from occurring. What do you recommend that someone do in this case?
It is important to get the help they need from trained professionals and not just read and hear from us in here.

We all have a hurt that we keep inside and we don't allow it to come out , the real problem is that we don't want to deal with the real problem

Most of us don't even have a clue what the real problem is. We are so busy running from it that we have never turned around to look at it to see if it is scary. Get professional help.

The best answer to your question is to get professional help. They are trained to help you find what is at the base and help you deal with it at the time. Although friends and family are great, they do not have the training to do that job most of the time.

As mentioned getting professional help is sometimes the only way to go with addictions if the root of the problem will just cause the addictions to come back. There are many different reasons people get involved with drugs or alcohol and people are not all able to recover in the same ways or amount of time. We are all individuals and sometimes we need different treatments.

There's nothing one could say before knowing about the problem.
Of course professional help matters. But if you really need to get over alcohol or wee, you can also do it yourself.
Its just on determination.

Hell I became an alcoholic because of anger, I guess I will always be that because I'm not going to stay sane for ever. I use alcohol to cover up the pain that I feel.

I think you can never recover untill you address the main reason for addiction with out which I think it is next to impossible to recover.
