I am just at the beginning of my recovering journey. I know my smoking has gotten out of hand. Reading the other comments here; I can see that I will fit in well and find support and the encouragement that I need to kick this nasty habit.

Hi, I am also working on my smoking addiction. I have been on the patch. This seems to be working. My doctor has prescribed a low dose of prozac temporarily.

I am using the patch and also taking a prescription..The doctor has put me on prozac besides using the Nicoderm CQ ..I think the prozac helps the nerves quite a bit! Also chewing gum, sunflower seeds or sucking on cinnamon candy seems to help too. Why this is; I don't know!

Dude101 we are all beginning, more or less, on our journey. I think anyone who has or has had an addiction is always beginning. One can never say I am through with my addiction. The tendencies always follow us. Daily we must resist that which we have given up!

It is always easier said than done. You have to really want to make it happen in order for it to happen. When you are stopping for the wrong reasons you will never be successful. if we can help by encouraging you to stay on task then great. I would recommend that you try to figure why you started to begin with, then choose an activity that you like to do and easily accessible. Once you have done this, when you have the desire to light up, you need to work on the activity or hobby you have chosen. And try not to think about smoking.
