I stuck to my computer

I stuck to my computer

So I am stuck to my computer as much time that I can get. I am only 13 but love the internet. My mom will say something for me to do from the other room, I will say ok, but then continue my computer surfing. When I am done, I don't remember what my mom told me to do. She gets mad at me. How do you give up something you like doing so much. Is the computer really dangerous?

what do you do on the comp the whole tme? you should try getting a hobby that is out side the house. maybe a sport or work on a car. heck even if you just get a girlfriend that really likes to go out. just anything that will keep you out of the house for now may help. then after a while cut down your hourson the comp when your at home. the ocmputer isn't really bad bad for you, but you could be doing much better things during that time and you went get your mom mad at you :)

My kids can be the same its certainly not only you who have this predicament, but I don't think the computer is actually dangerous as you intimate, what you need to is to break your routine thats all, instead of going striaght home from school go to a friends house or go to the park and hang out there

My 13 year old was the same way. Now I make it a point to come and make sure I am 100 percent aware of what my child is doing, and often I find that he is not even on the internet or only one playing games. I encourage him to do other things as well such as spend time with friends at the mall, or he and I will go to the movies and dinner. I also make it a point to get him interested in making money, so if he wants to spend a lot of time online he will be preparing for his future.

My daughter also has a tendency to not want to leave the computer. I have her internet time restricted to 1-2 hours per day on school days and then 4 hours per day on weekends. Otherwise she would spend her whole life on it.

Since you're only 13, I think its dangerous to surf online without your parents consent because you might be accessing sites not intended for your age. You can give up the internet by minimizing slowly your internet usage, like two hours, then one hour, then 30 minutes, then a time will come when you will not long for it anymore. Do also find a nice hobby.
