New Path of Discovery on the road to recovery
New Path of Discovery on the road to recovery

When you are on the road to recovery you will discover things that you never knew about yourself and your surroundings. You may find that you were exactly like people were saying you are and that is nothing you ever want to hear. But when you stop to take a look at the others who were around you encouraging you to destroy your body you will find that you never wanted to be like that, maybe they do not either, but they will try to bring you back down.
Look at where you were and where you want to be. What makes you different and how what you have done has affected your relationships, life and more and you will discover more that you ever thought possible. Good Luck

PS. AND DON'T KILL YOURSELF IN YOUR FIRST FIVE YEARS OF RECOVERY CAUSE THATS NOT SUICIDE ITS MURDER, YOUR KILLING A STRANGER. SOME OLD TIMERS SAY IT TAKES FIVE YEARS TO GET A GRIP ON WHO YOU ARE, I AM HALF WAY THERE AND ITS BEEN AN AWAKING. I HAVE LIKES AND DISLIKES AND A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF LIFE ON LIFES TERMS. I HAVE LEARNED REAL ENJOYMENT. YOU DID DRUGS CAUSE THEY WERE FUN, THEN THEY BECAME HABIT AND THEN A NECESITY, THE OPPOSITE GOES WITH MEETINGS. THEY START A NECESITY, THEN BECOME HABIT AND WALA THEY ARE FUN.

Also people that are in recovery need to understand that once they stop doing drugs or whatever they were addicted to, they are ultimately starting a new life. People need to go back and revisualize the what their morals truly are and where they stand with what they're okay with. It's hard for an addict to go back to the same environment and stay sober but making new friends and doing new things should be a goal becuase it will help that person rediscover who they are without drugs

So true as mentioned twice above, you are starting a whole new life and things will be very different from what you are used to. Expect to be frustrated with real life, and remember that you can control it or it can control you and you never want the later of the two. So good luck and keep working on it each and everyday, it will eventually become second nature just as the addiction was, but life is much better than you the addiction where you had no life.
