I'm a new member and wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm a female senior citizen whose father was an alcoholic. At one point in my life I attended meetings for the children of alcoholics and found it helpful. I don't drink but several of my sibblings are alcoholics. I've struggled with plenty of other problems though and hope to share and learn with the rest of you.

Hello and welcome we are always glad when someone new comes in as it shows they have either made a change in their life already and are ready to talk about it. Or they just are starting on their new journey in life and need some help and guidance to make it happen. Congrats in either case and we hope you find what you are needing in this forum.

Hello ozzie,

It's tough on the children when they watch their parents who are alcoholics. It's good that you didn't take after your father and his addiction but it's unfortunate your siblings did. The people here are very friendly and are here for you to dicuss anything you want. Keep in touch!

It's good to recognize the fact that with an alcoholic parent and siblings that you might want to join a forum such as this. Ask questions and get involved. We are all learning.
