Learning to recover for a lifetime

There is a wrong and a right way of recovery. Learning to recover for a lifetime is very different then recovering because others think you need to. Recovering for a lifetime, is where you want to recover for you and not others, and so you will take every measure possible, and be willing to give up things all because you never want to go down that road again ever.

How right you are! You must go into recovery with the realization that this is a lifetime commitment and process. Also, you will not be successful unless you choose recovery for yourself and not for something or someone else. It may work that way for awhile but you are sure to go back to old ways soon.

You are right. we should never fall back to our addiction, never do the same mistake again. But can we? We can be very temptated to slip right back to the addiction, but we should allways think of the concequnced of going back. I allways thought of qutting my gambling addcition for myself and not for others, especially friend from witch I did not get much support, bcause they think I'm just dum because I gamble, this is their oppinion, they don't understand what a gambler can go through while addicted just because they never gamble. So in conclusion yes you should choose to recover just for yourself and not fgor anyone else!

Although we say you should never fall back it does not mean you will not. There are times you will be tempted believe me, but you have to decide at that point in time, do you want to change your life and fully recover or do you want to go back to the same old ways and make your life miserable. I think that when people stop and think they can generally say NO I do not want that anymore.

There should be desire and will power if you want to recover for a life time.
All you need to habe id faith in god
and also try doing meditation
And never ever go on the path of your addiction.

I think this theory also works for changing. You shouldn't change just because others want you to change. When you change you should be doing it for your self and when you change it should  be forever. You could change and also be sober forever too. I personally think thats the best change of all.
