My little brother suffered from a drug addiction, none of us really know exactly which drug, but I'm guessing a few. I've seen him using crystal meth, and marijuana, and have heard about him using heroin. He died 3 years ago from an overdose. It was the hardest time in my life, for me and my family. And what bothers me the most is I could've done something to help him, but I thought there was nothing I could do and that maybe its just a phase that he'll grow out of it. :-/ He was 21 when he died. He would be turned 25 next tuesday.

It seems like your portraying it as your fault and it really isn't. Once your addicted its really hard to stop. Even if you did help it might've not done much. I believe in faith and this was your brothers faith. He was meant to die on that day and hes in a better place now.

It seems like this was a very important time in your life, I think his story can be a motivation for his friends and a lot of people on this site.  Addiction robs people of thier lives, memories, money, friends, lots of things.  I hope you can remember your brother for the good in him, I'm so sorry for what happend.  My brother went through an addiction, he just recently decided to get sober, I don't know what would've happend if he hadn't made the decision.

I'm really sorry for your loss. But you cant blame yourself at all. You couldn't have done anything to stop him. He was addicted and addiction will make you do crazy things that a person would never do. He probably would've have taken your words seriously. And if he wanted to quit he could've reached out for help. It's hard for a person to sober up when they have no intention to. This was what was in the cards for him and there is nothing you could do about it. It's not your fault. Your job is to remember him for the amazing person he was without the drugs, and to help others so they don't ever be in the same position as you.
