Is your teen a texting fiend?
Is your teen a texting fiend?

I've been hearing some pretty crazy stories recently in response to a news report about a 13 year old who sent 14,500 texts in one month... which includes sent/received but still! Thats close to 500+ everyday! This child is obviously addicted, and I wonder if she is failing her classes. I heard another story where a teen reported abuse to her principal after her mother took away her cell phone. This is out of control, there is obviously a problem if your teen is that obsessed with texting.! It's the parents responsibility to monitor this, if they're paying the bill, then there should be no problem! And if they're still having trouble monitoring, then they obviously care more about being liked by their son/daughter more than their own well-being.

That many text messages in one month is ridiculous! Pre-paid cell phones are the way to go with teens. It teaches them boundaries and the value of money restriction. If they want to text much more, then they can go get a job and pay for more minutes, but that way you're not fronted with hundreds of dollars to pay.
