I'm moving out in a few days and one of the things that I am verrry worried about is gaining weight. I dont know how to cook and I don't think I will even have enough money or time to try it. I dont want to gain weight but I know the constant eating of fast food will slowly work up about 30 pounds on me!! I'm trying to think of ways where I could get past this. I was thinking I could make eggs everynight for dinner, I can cook that. Or Alfredo pasta, I can make that too. Or just having my mom cook me a big meal and then just take that home with me every week and that would last me a week. Do you guys know any more tips? I made my friends promise on their mothers lives that they would tell me if I gained weight.

LOl that's pretty funny, I think weight gain would be the least of my worries if I were moving out in a few days!  But I think you should definitely think about taking a cooking class, or just start watching cooking shows.. or better yet, why don't you have your mom teach you some recipes?  While growing up, my own mother never learned how to cook and she just happened to marry a chef.  So she was never forced to learn how to cook until they got divorced. She took some cooking classes and learned how to make some really great, easy meals.  These are some easy meals I can think of such as spagetti, tacos, hamburgers, grilled chicken/steak.. Also make sure you're getting regular exercise and eating fruits/vegetables too :)

I don't know if you'll be living on campus but usually in college you do a lot of walking around, biking, and spend a lot of time outdoors if you're that type of person. Also campuses usually have discount gyms for students.  I think in college you have to actually be proactive so that you don't end up being a bum and gaining weight like you said.
