Myspace, sex, drugs, and violence
Myspace, sex, drugs, and violence

A lot of people I know that are younger and have a myspace don't normally think twice about whats featured on their page. Nearly 51% of all discussions taken place on myspace are about sex, drugs, and violence. Teens aren't really thinking who is viewing, and that person could be a potential employer or just anyone who might be influenced. There's also a lot of bragging about alcohol consumption that takes place, and even though that person could be totally lying, getting positive feedback from a peer could encourage them further to actually drink more often.

I've noticed that a lot too. People will post up bulletins such is "completely faded" and talking about how drunk they are at that moment! I knew a girl that would do this alllll the time. And she also had one promiscuous picture of her with a lot of cleavage showing, some guy commented it saying very dirty things and she was commenting back to it and pretty soon all her myspace friends found out they slept together a few weeks before. Anyway her father made a fake MySpace just to see what this hype was all about because she was always on it and he read all those conversations and all her bulletins from the last month!! She got in really big trouble. People think you can be free with things like myspace and facebook and talk about anything but you really can't! some work places even check their employees myspace too.

I think it's pretty immature to post stuff like that.. I mean it's just fishing for all of the wrong attention. And if you're displaying yourself like that for the world to see, then that's just having no respect for yourself. I can guarantee certain friends will talk to you less and you'll attract the attention of other drunks and that's just getting yourself deeper into the world of alcohol.

I'm honestly so sick of MySpace right now. I mean people use it to brag about themselves and it makes people be nosy. I have a couple stories about this topic though. One of my friends dumped this guy and he posted a bulletin saying oh never drink, take 2 ecstasy, 2 vicodin and kept listing all this stuff. She called him on it and he said he was just joking. She chewed him out about it because it really isn't something to joke about. For the sex part, a girl from high school does modeling for like swimsuits and stuff, but they are pretty inappropriate, the comments men left about the pictures were absolutely disgusting and I don't see how her parents are fine with this. I guess someone started reporting her pictures and she left a status thing saying MySpace stop deleting my pictures they aren't showing my nasty. I was happy they deleted them. No one should post pictures like that on their MySpace.

I deleted mine a couple months ago and I feel so relieved and better. I still talk to my best buddies so I don't need the site to communicated to them.
