It’s pretty clear now that a few states let you grow or posses your own pot if you have a medical marijuana license. But what I just learned is that there is a marijuana project at the University of Mississippi that grows nearly 100 types of marijuana and studies them. The seeds are from Mexico, Colombia, Thailand, Jamaica, India, Pakistan, and the Middle East. Pot is known to ease pain, nausea, glaucoma, and loss of appetite from aids. It has many, many medical purposes and some may agree that legalizing it is a good thing. Others think that legalizing it would just turn our country into a bunch of drug addicts.
I’ve always wondered why scientists don’t just develop a drug that is based off of THC. THC is the active ingredient in marijuana, so if we could just make pills that contain THC we could benefit from all the medical purposes of marijuana without actually having pot smoking. I looked into this marijuana project and it seems they have the same idea as me but the government won’t allow it. I think that is pretty ridiculous.
