1. Make kids less active. A recent study showed that both boys and girls are spending 10-14 hours a week playing video games!
2. Teach kids bad values. This is talking about games that let the child pick if they want to be the good character or the evil character.
3. VIOLENCE. Enough said with that.
4. Expense.
5. Bring up topics that parents haven't talked to their children about like sex.
6. Cause fights between friends or siblings. Meaning that kids will fight over who gets to play and things like that.
7. Not that educational
8. They can be ADDICTIVE. World of Warcraft has been cited as one of the most addicting games on the market.

I think it is important for parents to monitor the time their child spend playing video games. We just bought the Wii and you really do get a workout from it!

I think it's good when everyone can join in on a video game. Not just one child playing for hours and hours. But I guess it just depends on each child. But it's completely up to parents to set limits for their kids, and that includes video games too.

I think parents monitoring their childs games is a very good idea. My little sister is ALWAYS on her gameboy and she never puts it down. She takes my iphone too and just plays game after game after game. It gets her anger tantrums aswell because she hates losing. When I have kids I think the only games I will approve of them playing are games on the Wii because it also gets them to be active. Or games where the whole family can join in. I woudn't want them to start playing Halo or games such as that because those are the ones that are most addictive and take a long time as well.

Video game is the very good entertainment. But now a days, it is become an addiction. Many children's and youngsters are also suffering from video game addiction and it is becoming a very serious problem. It is good to cure as early as possible.
